must be nice! lol

No complaints on my end.

Actually, I liked both colors. but was insure of the white face (still am actually) I wanted to see it in person.

When I heard no white I got the black cause I liked it just as much. So, when white comes out, I will go to apple and look at it in person and if it is as beautiful as I think it will be I will pay full price for it.

I havent gotten my phone yet, it is supposed to be delivered by July 6th... I was just curious...

I go back and forth as to which color I want... I do think that the apple bumpers will look better on the white phone... but I am not positive.. as I have not seen either hands on yet..

Thumbs up to the username, my second favorite player :D

yeah, he is a stud.. I kind of hoped that the Thunder would have pulled a trade for Kevin Love, as I think he would be perfect for that team..

I want a White one but bought a black one since white was unavailable. However, when the white is released I will buy it at the no commitment price and have both. I will then decide which color I want to use depending on the day.

then again, I have the disposable income to do that, I know many do not.

grats?

Sounds like more money than brains IMO. It's a phone, not sandals. Who gets one of each to interchange daily depending on their mood?

What may be a phone to you can just be sandals to another person. The value of an item is relative to one's income. If you were poor living in a 3rd world country for example, then suddenly you'd be the brainless one wasting money on sandals.

Strong counter-argument.

My point wasn't regarding the price of the sandals.

I accept donations of iphones :)

someone who likes both colors and has the money to do it. Its not a matter of more money than brains. Trust me, I did not get where I am today because I look good. :)

I have never faulted anyone for getting anything they want as long as they can afford it. and I dont mean credit. dont go putting yourself in the hole just cause you want. My paycheck affords me to be able to live well and have money to play.

and as far as "Who gets one of each to interchange daily depending on their mood?" I bet you Steve Jobs and Johny Ive get up and decide what color phone they want to use that day, and then decide on which variety of Macbook, Pro, Air they are going to lug with them that day. would you say those men lack brains?

More on topic, I remember when I got mine from the Apple Store the Apple Sales Representative made it very clear that you would not be able to exchange a Black iPhone for a White iPhone, and could only return/exchange a Black for a Black.

I don't know if that also holds true for AT&T though, but in the worst case scenario, you return your Black iPhone, pay a 20% restocking fee, and purchase a White iPhone.

Why 20%? I thought ATT followed apples lead with 10% restock. Unless they changed it

I thought it was a 10% iPhone restocking fee + $20 (now $35) restocking fee for anything purchased at an AT&T store. I could be completely wrong though.

i thought someone had mentioned in another thread that Apple employees were telling people at the apple store that they would not be able to exchange for the white one.

i dont see how at&t would be able to stop you...granted you will probably have to pay some sort of restocking fee of some BS

I was at an Apple store yesterday and asked that exact question and he was very polite but said, "NO", they won't do that.

I hate to be honest but I hope they don't.. If you wanted a white one you should have waited... Not get a black one when you know there are other people who actually want a black iPhone.

If they charge a restocking fee - it should be based on the value of the phone, not purchase price. IE - 10% of $600/etc

But again - I hope they just refuse.

I know Apple has come out and said that they won't be allowing exchanges for white iPhones, but what's stopping someone from returning their black on day 29 (or whenever the white is released) due to the reception issue (if they have it) for a full refund? This should reset the upgrade eligibility date to what it was prior to purchasing the black iPhone 4, and thus allowing them to come right back in the next day and buy the white phone at upgrade price. Seems like a perfectly good workaround for someone willing to do it. Personally, I'm going to just purchase the white iPhone full price $599/$699 (I already have the black now), and have both. Although AT&T is already showing me that I qualify for the "early upgrade" price $399/$499 on an iPhone purchase, even though I just got the black 32Gb iPhone 4 at $299. I'm going to look into this, and if it's a genuine glitch in their system, I'll call them on it and see if they will sell it to me at that reduced price. I'm sure that it would reset my upgrade eligibility date to that purchase date, but I always pay no commitment price on my iPhones each year anyway, except for this year when they bumped everyone's date up.

So if you bought a black car and found out it has an oil leak, would you rush back to the dealer and demand they exchange it for a white one?

They are running a business to make money, not to lose money.

There is a restocking fee for returning the phone. You can exchange the phone (Black for Black) for free. This is of course Apple's stance on the issue, I'm not sure how AT&T does it.

Ahh...forgot about the restocking fee. But, if someone is willing to pay that nominal fee, then it seems like it'd still be a workaround to essentially "swap" black for white.

I'm sure you could return an iphone4 to exchange for a different device. That'd fall under the "does not meet your expectations" part of the policy.

Exchanging for a different color should be excluded as that's not a matter of function. I bet that's the basis they'll use to deny exchanges for color.

I also bet they'll hold off on releasing the white until after the 24th or so to exclude the day-one buyers.

There really is no way for them to stop people from doing this.

Sure you can not do an exact exchange, but they can not stop you from returning the phone within 14 days, resetting your contract, and then going back in to buy a white iphone when it comes out. YOu may have to wait a week or so, but by that time everyone who bought a black one will have scratched their iPhone 4 itch.

Oh and the restocking fee at apple stores applies to non defective items. If you push the issue, I know you could get the fee waived due to the reception issue :D

Ok - so let me get this straight. You think people that couldn't wait to get their hands on a black iPhone will return their phones within 14 days and THEN wait 2-3-4 weeks to get their white phone.

I don't see it happening. The same "have to have it now" people aren't going to give up their black iPhones until the seconds they know they can get a white phone.

And here's hoping they get hit with a nice fee or rejection when they do.

First of all, it has always been 30 days and not 14 on iPhones, there seems to be a lot of confusion over this.

And Apple won't release the white until over the 30 day period from launch, guaranteed.

I also find it highly irritating that people who didn't want the black bought it anyways (preventing others who DID want the black from pre-ordering before they were backordered) and now those same people will do the same with white again preventing people who actually waited from getting it upon release.

Local apple store was telling a lady the other day that they will not exchange for white. There will always be ways around that, like exchanging 1 16gb black for a 32 gb white but.. hopefully this rings true.

So who wants to take bets that they'll be a bunch of people complaining about ATT/Apple/BB/Radio Shack blaming them instead of themselves when the white one goes on sale for the no return/exchange policy.

And by complaining - I mean self entitled whining.
