I am approved to trade in an iPhone 4s to ATT. Do I have to send in the charger and cable?

Amazon iPhone Trade In Scam?

So I sent in my absolutely in perfect condition 64Gb iPhone 5 to Amazon almost three weeks ago. This phone had a case put on it the moment it came out of the box. Had an Invisible Shield put on it out of the box as well. Always protected to say the least. I entered the condition as "Like New" on the Amazon trade in site and was quoted a price of $240 in gift card. When I removed the case and invisible shield the phone was spotless and in MINT condition. I wiped it down to remove fingerprints on the case and screen and even replaced the protective cover that came with the phone back on it.

Amazon also says you must have the original box as well as all accessories in mint condition as well. I swapped out all my new iPhone 6 accessories and put in the mint box which was in my office drawer for the past 2 years. Packed it up in the iPhone 6 shipping box and sent it in to the address on the Amazon prepaid shipping label and waited for my Amazon Gift card.

It took a week for it to go from the West coast to the East coast and I saw it arrive and signed for. Then I waited a full week more as it said "processing" on the Amazon site. I opted to have the Phone sent back to me if it didn't meet the "like new" standard just to be safe.

Finally I got an email almost 10 days after the Phone had be received from the 3rd Party receiver for Amazon. The email said the Phone was being returned to me as requested as it did not meet the conditions for "Like New", It was graded as only "Good Condition" and now only valued at $180. The reason stated was "lightly scratched". There were NO scratches on this Phone when I sent it in. "Lightly" or otherwise. If this Phone did not qualify as "like new" then no used iPhone would qualify if my opinion. Only something shrink-wrapped in a box fresh from the Apple store could possibly meet their standards, again in my opinion.

Wondering if anyone else has sent their phone in to Amazon and what your results were if you sent it in as "Like New".

They better be sending "my" iPhone back to me as well and not try to swap it for somebodies else's iPhone. Better be my Box and Accessories as well as they even had the plastic wrap around the cord and plastic box for the new/unused headphones…..

Not a happy camper at the moment!

I sent my 64GB iPhone 5 to Amazon with a quote of $265 in "like new" condition with "return if denied" instructions. Once received (2 day Priority Mail) it took a few days to process ... then they issued me the $265 gift card as promised.

I had the original box, all the accessories, unopened headphones, and my phone had been covered with a iCarbons skin since new (which I did remove before sending so it would be truly "like new").

So ... I had absolutely no problems with the Amazon iPhone buy-back offer. :)

Thought this thread was dead since it was all about people that must have everything in the first hour it's available.

Anyway, here's my trade in story from Tmob. 64GB white i5, quoted $250 on website when researching, went to $253 by the time I hit Submit on 9/18. The website did not let you apply it directly to a preorder with an EIP, but recommended that you wait until it was all set up from the new phone, then it could be applied to your account later.

My 5 was in pretty good shape, original screen with no damage. Many little marks on the bezel, though. Brand new battery courtesy of Apple's replacement program that popped up recently.

I waited a bit compared to some, received my 6 on 9/22, the Monday after shipping began. Sent the 5 to Tmobile a day or two later. By the end of that week, the online status went to Processing or whatever they called it. Within 2 weeks, it said the phone was accepted, at $253, and it could take up to 3 bill cycles (aka: months) to hit my account. That timeframe is in the Terms, so I already knew that. But, within a week, it was already on my account as a credit. That was around 10/8, last week. I think it was 20 days all told from submission on the site to the credit on my account.

So, really fast and I got the full amount the site claimed. They did have some issues, the cash got applied to my account generically when I wanted it to go as a payment specifically on the EIP. Had to make a phone call about that, and it isn't all done, yet. But my regular payment goes through this week, so it is supposed to all be in the correct places once that happens.
