Freaking out. Someone from fed ex stole my trade in. Apple said they received an empty box. Has this happened to anyone? I’ve been on IUP since it started and an iPhone customer since the first generation. Do you think Apple will side with me? Those criminals at Fed Ex are pro’s I’m assuming so I bet the investigation will not find any proof they tampered with the box. Ugh. Great start to my day!! Advice?

by the way, I dropped off the box to the fed ex counter in person and got a receipt. Not sure that will help. Apple did ask me if I video taped myself packing it. Seriously? Is that what we all have to do now? I told them, no, I followed the instructions for trade in exactly as written. Geez.

your receipt should state the weight - that should be an indication that there was a phone inside. I'd probably go to the fedex shop you shipped from

I’m a little nervous myself. Mine was shipped 8 days ago and still hasn’t been delivered or even updated in fed ex system. At first it said it would be delivered on the 5th but now it just says pending.

My trade-in was delivered on Tuesday (a day EARLY, too!), according to Fedex. Unlike my last trade-in, I didn't get an email from Apple saying they received it though...

The destination was also different this time. My last trade-in went to Texas. This one went to Pennsylvania.

My receipt does not say weight on it. Checked it all over.

While the phone weighs less than 1 pound, with packaging it might come close to 1.1 pound? They usually then round up so shipment facts should read 2 pounds.

Man, I guess I will do this now. Like vlog the entire process. Walk in filming myself lol. Seems crazy we have to do this now
It's what I do. I arrive at the store, video myself placing the phone into the package and handing it to the desk agent. It has never saved my bacon, but I know the one time I don't do it is the time that I'll wind up in a situation like yours. I do not envy at all! Hopefully Apple does the right thing, and I would think that the shipment is insured.

for my various trade-in returns, I've always taken photos of the actual product on and displaying the screen as well as the package, just in case ... also, mine have been UPS for the last several times and the receipts always showed a weight, and, as mentioned by others already, should show the weight online ... good luck

Yes I hope so!! In the meantime I better not keep getting my IUP citizen payments taken out for that phone. I’ll be pissed

Thanks,

looked it up. Says .9 lbs. Is that what it should be? Crap that seems light
That might be the weight when you likely dropped it off and when they weighed it on the scale when you asked for a receipt. Sometimes they round up to 1 ibs, but sometimes they don't so there's no way to tell.

Well I’m assuming an empty box would be lighter hopefully so maybe that weight will save me. I hope!

Well I guess I can now say ignore my last comment! I just dug through my email and found the one I got from Apple saying my trade-in was initiated (the email that gives you the QR code to scan at Fedex). They give you a trade-in order number. Tapped on that, and sure enough...even though I didn't get an email from Apple saying they received my trade-in...the status says it was received and is being inspected and that I should get an update within 3 business days. Not sure when that was updated, but since it was delivered on Tuesday, I'll anticipate hearing back by tomorrow!

So that solves my concerns.

Oh good! Hopefully yours arrives safe and sound! This stuff is nerve wracking. I hate thieves
