Surprised no one mentioned this yet. Bubblebee isn't a VW Bug anymore. He is now a Chevy Camaro( the Camaro Concept that debut at Detroit this past January). From what I hear it was because VW didn't want to be associated with war or something like that. But I could be wrong. Here is Bubblebee transforming.

Nice one, thanks for the link! It'll be interesting to see what other changes are made to the main characters. And, for that matter, which main characters will be in it, and which will not - there was quite a cast from the original series by the end of it!

I really hope they dont go past Transformer The movie in cast size. After that a lot of the chars just dont fit as well.

That or just stick with the ones from season 1 and maybe some of season 2.

I just dont like how some of the chars work. The ones though the moves seem great and fit together really nicely.

I dont have a problem with them changing the cars to much as to fit with more modern times. Prim has to be a Semi that something you cannt change.

As for caste on the Autobots side I hoping to see
Prime (of course)
Bumble Bee
Jazz (my favorit Autobot) (and really should be a porsh
Prowl (has to be a police car)
Wheel Jack would be nice
Sun streaker and his twing brother (cann remeber it off the top of my head) (both itanan cars)
Hot rod would be nice but he from the movie
hound
Brawl
Wrechat
DinoBots (you got to have the dinobots)

Decicon
Megatron
Star Scream
Soundwave
Desticoicon and Devistator (Became way to staple)
Thundercracker

Plus more. Been a while since I watch the TV show. I be doing that over the next year or so. At elast the first 2 seasons. Season 3 just went down hill.

In its own way Transformers did a lot for cartoons in general. It was a lot of first. It was the first to not be afraid to kill off man chars (movies kill most of the First 2 season guys in the opening 10 mins). They where the first not to be afraid to deal with issues of Reliegon. if the script was crap they where willing to change it at the studio so it would not match the animation as well.

Hasbro gave the writers a lot of free rein and let them do pretty much anything. They broke a lot taboos during the time. And broke the mold. The other one at the same time was GI Joe. Both broke a lot of rules in tehre time and really gave cartoons a new direction. And broke out of the box.

It took toys companies to do it. Both those shows where just 1/2 long adverstments to them. And they made off really well on it. Got money for the shows. got even more money from selling toys.

Poor Sunstreaker, laid low by Shockwaves arrival on Earth (he disabled just about every Autobot and Decepticon in a massive attack - who then played around with Megatron and Prime for a good few issues)

Not be be seen again for about 2 years and then after his 1st fight heads straight back to the Ark and put by Ratchet in cold storage as he don't have the time nor manpower to fix him.

Or, at least thats how my memory goes anyway,

Ha ha, didn't notice! It came up on the MacRumors front page. Don't know why if it was so old!

No worries at all, it's a great thread. ;) And now that's there's some news on the movie, it's quite appropriate! :)

My mate has that Unicron figurine, damn thing's huge!!

It's like a big plastic doll compared with regular action figures. He got it in Sydney from a toy store, cost a pretty penny too but it's pretty cool.

I have to say the unicron toy is pretty sweet. I kept and still do think about buy it some time.

Still Unicron going to pale against my 25th anitversory opimus prime. Looks like he does in robot mode like in cartoon,

Cost a pretty peny and made all out of metal but a really sweet thing.

I got a metal Optimus Prime back in 1987 when my sisters were born. Wasn't all that expensive and my Mum sold it at a garage sale for sweet bugger all. My mate who collects action figures went white and tried to strangle me when I told him that it was still in mint condition and had all its bits when it was sold.

Had Ultra Magnus too, he was cool.

He's a big boy alright, i got mine from Home Bargins for only £25 - £50 in Toys R Us

Ooh, the proper trailer is up now, looks cool :)

One thing does annoy me though - why the clearly American accent on the Mars Express launch? Why does Hollywood always have to revise history to make everything American?

(Nothing against Americans, before anyone gets offended. It's just the rest of us like to get some credit when it's due :p )

"Proper trailer"? Where exactly? Or are you simply referring to the teaser trailer which was posted last week and has already been commented on in this thread?

Because Michael Bay has never let silly little things like reality interfere with his need to play with himself.

I thought the teaser they were talking about was the flash movie with the big spaceship-matrix thing appearing over the Earth... I'm talking about a proper trailer with a deep-voiced narrator and a fleeting glimpse of a robot...

Apologies if it was already out - I thought that's what the clock was counting down to on July 4th.

No worries at all, I just wanted to confirm I wasn't missing something new! Yeah, that proper teaser trailer was actually released last week, the clock didn't actually sync up...

Aplogies for any confusion! ;)

HAHA! just saw the teaser.

Hilarious they're tying the Mars lander fiasco to the movie. I hope it stays at least technical-wise to the noir. They already made them from mars as the trailer looks.

wow....

how exciting! woohoo!

between this and the simpsons movie - it looks like a good summer up ahead ('07)

Just thought I could share some the the original production run of Unicron .... I remember him back in grade 5-7 (I was 10 when Transformers co-debutted in USA/Canada on Buffalo29; and I was 11/12 when a friend of mine got a present of Unicron fully transformable by his dads visit to Japan). Unicron's sheer size and transforming complexity blew me away .... that is until Robotech came along, but that is another thread.
