Hey guys, check out a generator I built to speed up this process (might also be useful for people who don't have Photoshop).

I applied some intelligent padding on the edges to make the output wallpapers parallax before I applied Gaussian blurring on them.

I also made a mobile UI so that the process can entirely be performed on the iPhone.

Any chance you can add the option of choosing Parallax or not (the end image which is produced is obviously parallaxed but I would like the output image not parallaxed)?!

You are most welcome. I didn't add the parallax on/off option on purpose for 2 reasons a) the vast majority of people have parallax turned on (by default) b) it would overcomplicate the UI.

Is there any specific reason why you want it not parallaxed? Is it just a plain wallpaper that you want to blur instead of a home screen screenshot? Happy to help either way, just trying to figure out the tradeoff.

To be honest - don't have the parallax feature turned on, think its a bit of waste - especially on the Lockscreen, seeing that the phone is in sleep mode more often than not, you're hardly ever going to see the parallax feature working.......!

Also the parallaxed output image is too zoomed out for my liking - I much prefer having the output image just blurred so its the same as the input image!

Don't worry anyway - I already have a non parallaxed version set on my lockscreen - just thought it would be a neat addition to your cool iPhone program......!

Thanks for the feedback. I pretty much agree with you although I feel that most people don't get what parallax is so having an option there would be for the advanced user. Maybe an advanced options drop down menu with parallax ON/OFF is a cool idea.

There's an easy trick for the time being if you want to use the generator .. turn the parallax ON on your phone, set the parallax-sized wallpaper on your lock screen and then turn the parallax effect again off. You will see
that it will fit perfectly.

It's the arrow at the bottom right of each post that has a number next to it (usually 0)
