I think the real question here is why would you stick with a phone that you've had replaced what, 14 times? I won't comment on if those replacements were warranted or not because I wasn't there. But the likelihood of you getting that many defective iPhones is so small it makes it hard to take you seriously especially when you throw out "my goal is to get a 6S plus" Nobody in the forum was being rude by pointing this out, just saying they're not treating you differently because it's used but rather they obviously can't do anything that pleases you. If they gave you a 6S, it seems it's only a matter of time before you'd be taking it in trying to get it replaced with a 7.

They also mentioned that they were told that an upgrade is rare but can be permitted if someone continually has issues with their phone which is what the OP is describing. One can't help but wonder if the OP is trying to engineer a situation where they are given a 6S plus.

I'm not trying to engineer anything. I'm looking for a solution that will hopefully work. To fix my issues

The problem with your situation is that you have apparently had statically impossible bad luck to have a phone fail that many times, and not mistreated it. Now you want a newer model to replace it.

So after you get the 6s Plus, read this thread and then you'll have to figure out how to get them to give you a non-S again... https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...over-the-6s-plus.1939830/page-5#post-22297700

He did mistreat it, he said he needed to replace the screen 3-4 times!

God help us all if he does get the 6S Plus... and it has a Samsung chip in it. :D :D :D

Hello I'm a 6 Plus owner, I got this used on April 1st. After that I've had numerous problems. Resulting in 3 replacements and a screen replacement. I've been talking to a senior customer relations about this and they had asked me how did you purchase the phone. Then I said I had bought it used to replace my 5S that had been replaced about 7-8 times and 3 screen replacements. She just stayed quite from there.

Do you get treated different with a used iPhone or Apple Product? My goal is to get a 6S plus as a replacement. Before all of you say it's like for like replacement. They said it's possible but rare, usually if there is a constant problem with the phone. I've had two phone that have had extremely loud home buttons, and the headphone jack had a bunch of static that almost made me deaf. It's about 100 times louder then what I listen too. And to add to this, my screen has been freezing about 15 times a day, when you put a little bit of pressure usually, it would work fine.

I'll find out if there able to do an exception to this again on Tuesday.

I have let them know that I've very busy with assignments due every week, which I do. and I have to do a restore that take two hours every time. Since there are missing apps.
It's very annoying.

Anyone else with an issue like this, that they have ran into. I'm worried there going to reject it because I bought the iPhone used.
I noticed you're in Canada. That alone is one strike against you. Apple being primarily focused on the US market, does not have the same liberal replacement / repair policies in other locations.

Apple home buttons are problematic by design, since any mechanical button is vulnerable to debris, moisture, etc. However Apple loves them. Almost to the point of being obsessed, poor guys can't help it.

As an Apple customer you should receive the same treatment new or used, but in real world experience that is not the case.

No need to worry, it's out of your control. Apple is either going to do the right thing and help you, or they will ignore the opportunity to set things right.

Thanks for the help of answering my question. When I got the phone, it was already loud out of the box.

This was because of dust under the screen, and backlight issues.
I just think you should stop buying Apple products because they clearly aren't up to the standard you set...
Quite sure Apple put a flag on your name.

On a side note: considering your history on this forum a device fit for you hardly exist even from another manufacturer.....

people like you ruin everything. Apple has great customer service, but people like you taking advantage of the system will ruin it for all of us. Since you have soo much issues with stuff made by apple, buy another brand.

And you were offered a solution several times. Which is to get another brand of phone. 14 replacements, really. Get a used Samsung and take it back 14 times. Quite frankly I would have thrown you out of the store long before the 14th time. And that's in no way being rude, it's the truth.

You're replacing a one year and a few months old device (at most) and telling the rep the one year old device you had before that was replaced 7-8 times. I don't think this has anything to do with be treated different for buying a used phone.

EDIT: I see this was basically said a handful of times already, though I assure you, I didn't read the thread before responding (a bad habit, I know).

I'm trying to picture how loud a home button click would need to be to be intolerable. I e heard louder clicky buttons, frankly I prefer them to the less clicky ones. :)
My home button has gotten quite loud, which is surprising because I do not jsut it much (I use 3D touch everywhere I can). I wouldn't say it's intolerable, but in a quiet room its clear that I am getting on my phone. I am otherwise happy and so I won't be expecting a replacement until something more serious arises.

A couple of hours ago you said the button was as loud as an alarm clock, and now you say its not intolerable? I don't know about your alarm clocks, but mine are pretty loud... they are so loud they wake me up when I'm sound asleep. Now you say that in a quiet room its clear that you are getting on your phone? Really? I can click just about any electronic button and hear it in a quiet room (mouse, trackpad, pretty much any phone, etc.). You seem to change your story here pretty quickly when challenged.

this ain't the OP, dawg

Op needs a life... With android. Dude, just stop. You're trying to game the system. I hope that if you by some small chance you get a newer phone, it's ****ed up.
How is Android support? Are they pretty receptive to replacing phones or is it more difficult than with Apple?

God, this thread has made my workday have 80% more laughing.

This was not me.
