I hate having screen protectors and cases on my phones, but with my 7 I keep a glass screen protector that I get from Amazon 2 for $10 on it and I replace them about every 5 months just because it's no longer 'perfect' the case I do use is a very thin clear case, I LOVE the beauty of the iPhone in it's natural state! I'll take it out of the case every now and again.

I would never in my life put a repulsive otterbox/lifeproof case on my phone, way too bulky for me. So I guess I am somewhat conscious about the safety of my phone, but I definitely lean more towards using mine as a tool, but why not also try to keep it nice at the same time! Like I will avoid putting it in the same pocket as my keys for example, just because why not take an easy extra step to avoid irritating scratches and dings!

I'm the same way with my shoes I have a pair that I won in a raffle that are worth about $1500, but I decided to wear them instead of selling, but I avoid walking in grass. At the end of the day they are just shoes and so I wear them and use them like they were meant to be used!

What kind of shoes are they? I'm curious...

Yeezys, I also have a pair of Way of Wade 4 all star editions in which only 100 pairs were made and I can't find them for sale anywhere so idk how much those are really even worth, but it's a pretty decent amount and I wear those too! Gotta use things for what they're meant to be used for imo hence the relevance to OP's topic

The iPhone is a tool. It is not a prized work of art with investment value.

In my opinion, too many people here obsess over trying to be trendy with their Apple products. They want to make sure that strangers can see that they are using an iPhone. And a lot of these same people chide others for using a case to protect their phone against accidents. Oh, the horror, of strangers not being able to readily see I use an iPhone. I am surprised I can sleep at night not caring about such frivolous things.

Meaning you like a worn look?

Generally speaking, yes. More precisely, I like it when items show a bit of their history, that they have gone through rough situations leading to cosmetic damage, while functionally they have held up through this, and they are still doing their job. I like it when items indicate that their owner has some nonchalance towards superficial damage, while he still values them for their function and reliability, and they are well maintained in that regards.

This is one of the reasons I switched to the sturdier SE from a 6S. The 6/7 series phones just feel way too delicate. The 5 series design is a bit more durable and feels better in hand - it feels like it was designed to be used, not babied. I think they look a little better with a bit of use too, much better than putting them in an awful plastic case.

Like an old pickup that runs like a champ but is dented and beat to hell
