My question is why is andy, the drunk sheriff, not effect by mary anns craziness, could he have a power or something as well?

Maybe Andy is so yipped up on liquor that he's too pickled to get possessed?

Season has flown by.. can't believe just two left.

What makes this show stand out is the Southern Gothic atmosphere. Vamps are a tired cliche at this point, but putting Vamps in the SG context is fresh, at least for TV.

I believe he is the fly that we have seen a few times in the past couple episodes. The one that showed Sam how to get out of the jail cell, and led him to Andy's motel. Andy has a secret he has been hiding, just like Sam. This would explain why he never gets put under her spell - as Sam seems to be at least partially immune as well.

Nope, the fly is really a fly and Sam shape shifts into the fly (or any other animal that he sees).... He escaped MaryAnne by shifting into an owl and also likes to change into dogs....

I think he is just the town drunk and has been too far from MaryAnne to get under her control - I don't think that there is anything else to read into with Bellefleur.

I'm gunna have to check this scene out again. I could of sworn he follows the fly back to Andy's place.

And I disagree that there isn't more going on w/ Andy. I have a feeling that he's going to be big in the last 2 eps of the season.

That's just my thought on Andy, but yes, Sam is a shape shifter and can shift into any species. That's how he got out of the jail.... He saw a fly, got naked and shifted into the fly.

If Andy is "special" like some of the other characters, he sure is hiding it well as he is giving no clues whatsoever. Interesting concept though.

The wife and I have been fans of the show since the 1st season. It is very addicting. To the poster who said they know the person who wrote the theme song, tell him I love it. The whole intro is great with all the creepy images and the "I want to do bad things to you" line in the song. Awesome.

As far as vampires being played out, never. It's part of our human nature to be fascinated with the prospect of living forever and the inherent evil side of ourselves. It's like trying to tell a historic Greek or Roman the gods are "old news and boring". ;)

I love Jason. He's a great character and whoever the actor is, he plays dumb and clueless masterfully. Lafayette and Eric are becoming so much more interesting in this season.

Why did Jessica had to go and bite her boyfriends mother...I liked their segments but I'm not sure he'll stay with her after that.

I'm really looking forward to tonights episode but too bad I'll be to work missing out...Sookie seems to have a god like power which should be interesting.

Bless

My fav show on TV.... Also a die hard for twilight too
Can't wait till tonight!!!! I watched the whole 1st season on comcast on demand in 2 days:D It was like a good drug! I love how they end every episode like a season finale, leaving you bleeding for more;)

Have you ever herd Jason speak in a behind the scenes or anything? He has a beautiful english accent! I am amazed at how awesome his hick talk is! I love everything about this season.. Except MaryAnne she is a freak of freaks... and I can't wait to see what powers of the light sookie has:D
10 hours to wait!!!!

Also will anyone be checking out the CW's new "Vampire Diaries" this fall? They are trying to make their own TB but I'm still gonna check it out!

episode last night stunk - nothing much exciting went down, more of a buildup to the finale. looking forward to the end in 2 weeks!

thoughts?

Oh he's "special" alright. Jason Stackhouse special. Both of them teaming up to defend Bon Temps is the funniest thing ever. Can't wait to see that play out.

They seem to have a group of slow episodes aligning everything and then one filled with action and then back to the slow episodes (episode 10 was the best so far, then 11 was a sleeper).
I think the killing of Mary Anne and Sookie realizing the full potential of her powers (some white-lighter, angelic, blocker of all evil) are all that are left for this season. I think Lafayette might be turned into a vamp this season...maybe.

All these viewers...and not a single reader?!

Id expect to have read at least a couple of "that aint how the book did it."
or "this is what the book did, so this is gonna happen."

not sure how much I would like this - changing him over now wouldn't add to the story; Eric's control over Lafayette is the real story - he's got him by the balls... like a puppet.

Not sure I would like it either, but if Eric is his maker he'd still have him by the balls. ;)
I think that during the final showdown with Mary Anne some people will be mortally wounded and might end up being saved by/turned into vampires. Who knows?

Kind of a weak finale IMO. Spoilers ahead:

Maryanne was a badass character, but she went down pretty easy. I get that she had to allow herself to get taken, and she thought Sam was the bull god, but she's thousands of years old...she couldn't tell that they were up to something?

And the big twist was Bill getting captured? So is part of the next season going to be dedicated to getting him back? Didn't they do that w/ Lafayette at the end of season 1 / beginning of season 2?

I thought the stuff with Eggs was pretty cool, and much more HBO style (something I think the latter part of this season lacked - gritiness, violence, etc...the stuff that sets HBO shows apart from most network series). It was interesting to put yourself in his shoes - if I did all that, even if I was under an external influence I had no power over - would I be able to live w/ myself? The Eggs character never really interested me until the very end.

And speaking of eggs, the end of the second to last episode got me pumped to see what was in that huge egg they were building a nest for. But it turns out to be a normal ostrich egg which they use for it's symbolic purposes. Boring...

My favorite part of this series is still how Bill says Sookie. Shookaayyy. Shookkaayy NO!

Agreed. I was hoping for more blood and guts - this episode lacked in that department.

If I had to guess, Eric took Bill, but that may be too obvious... Any thoughts?

Ramming a horn through Maryannes chest cavity and shooting Eggs in the head wasn't enough blood and guts for you?

I don't think Eric took Bill. There's no way he would've used silver to do it. Eric has seniority over Bill anyway. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out since books all the way through season 9 I think are out anyway... :p I'm still working my way through the first book though which is roughly Season 1.

I'm guessing it wasn't a vamp that took Bill and probably not somebody from Bon Temps since they are almost all recovering from Maryanne still. Maybe it would be somebody from the Fellowship of the Sun but I think they are done as a major character. I'm leaning more towards somebody completely new.

I don't know, just didn't have that scare factor I guess - was looking more towards a lot of WTFs in this episode....

Good point, never thought of this angle... Since I am not reading the books (although should be), I have no idea on who it may be.

Maybe one of the Weres that the Queen spoke of?!
