He’s apparently coming to the UK in September. You’re going to see some of the largest protests ever in our country. People who never take to the streets will be there. Young and old. There’s a huge rift between the politicians trying to soften the impact and the raw feelings of the average person with middle of the road views.

The latest Signal chat news just has to be the last straw, even for an idiot like Trump, if only to get rid of the distraction. Unfortunately I don't expect there will be an improvement with Hegseth's replacement because no competent candidate for SedDef would submit to having to be "loyal" to the dear leader. But even if the new person can just refrain from transmitting classified war plans via text messages... on private phones no less... that will be an improvement.
It’s pretty dismaying that the bar is set as low as that, and we might still be disappointed. ☹️

1. The statement I replied to was "Oh, you mean 2021 to 2024, when the country still had rule of law intact?" So which was it, was the rule of law never intact or did Donald Trump break it?
2. If we are not the envy of the world - why were tens of millions of people putting their lives at risk to rush across our boarder? I don't see poor families giving away their life savings to criminals to sneak them into Poland.

5. Economy ≠ Social Safety Net. I can admit that the stock market has taken a hit due to Trump's incompetent handling of the tariff discussion. So please, again, give me one example of a social safety net being in 'jeopardy.'
6. DEI is about elevating some 'oppressed' class and giving them special treatment. Don't you dare lump in women's right to vote with that garbage. If women's right to vote was a DEI initiative, their vote would count more due to their historic oppression. DEI is a cancer. It's not about equality, it's about equity (it's literally right there in the name) and equity is patently evil.
How about we just don't have the government fund any universities? Problem solved ... let the free market decide what values to uphold, and what values to toss away?

Perhaps you'd like to outline what is so bad about universities and why they have existed in other countries for centuries. The American idea of market forces in areas such as health and education is one of your worst exports. With you lot everything comes down to money. Frankly that's an indication of a very immature society.

The fact that you think universities should be left to market forces says more about you than than the position of universities.

2. You think you're the only person that has people trying other get in? Part of the reason is size. You tell me what is really envious about the US. Health? Food? Life expectancy? Na, none of those. The happiest people do NOT reside out there.

6. FACT. Women are the single largest group that benefitted from the right to vote and they deserved that right. Women WERE an oppressed class.
That is to say you had to be more diverse and include them to ensure equity. Listen to that for a second, the LAW said you had to do it, it should have been a natural inclination.

The Trump insiders are making MILLIONS, some are making hundreds of million, or even billions of dollars with insider knowledge of Trump’s tariff shenanigans. And yet….as we can see, there are still many, even here in the comments thread, who are fully supportive of Trump.
I'm not a supporter of that clown by any means but one thing he was right in saying, (but neglected to do), was drain the swamp.
There are significant numbers of dishonest democrats that also acted on insider information.
Bi-partisan action is needed to clean this sort of thing up.
I agree, a thorough investigation is needed, but on all sides. There are compelling reasons for investigating the other side too after the tariff back and forth.
