I'm amazed that Trump has the time to focus on stuff like this. There must be other things that's more important.
It's a distraction.
Bannon has clearly stated that they're doing all they can to confuse and distract people with dozens of new weird moves just to annoy everybody who's not MAGA. And it's working very well, it's really hard to keep track of everything they're doing.

"Apple recommended that shareholders vote against the proposal"

It's a shame; anyway, please, bear in mind that sentence when you write you feel "different" (=better) because you "stay with that company"
If you feel that way, you should let Apple know by voting with your wallet.

But something tells me you won't.

Trump's post comes one day after Apple held its annual shareholders meeting, during which a majority of shareholders voted against a proposal that asked the company to consider abolishing its Inclusion & Diversity policies and goals.

The proposal was submitted by the U.S. National Center for Public Policy Research, which calls itself a "non-partisan, free-market, independent conservative think tank." The organization said that DEI programs pose "litigation, reputational, and financial risks to companies, and therefore financial risks to their shareholders."
If Apple's policies are so bad, how is Apple still the worlds most valuable company with a nearly $4 trillion market cap and how is Apple's brand perception ranked in the top 10?

U.S. National Center for Public Policy Research calling themselves "non-partisan" is a load of B.S. Apple knows what they're doing.

This is not the GOP of old anymore
Yup, nothing in the current Republican actions is conservative, they’re just the MAGA party now, a cult of personality centered on Trump. All the old tenets conservatives at least claimed to stand by are out the window. Telling corps how to run their companies, telling states how to run things, etc are all just at the whim of Trump, not guided by any policy plank worth a damn

Executive orders do not apply to private companies, or the general public, only to federal government workers. Trump, or any president, cannot dictate rules for companies. That is for Congress and the senate through laws that are passed. Apple can tell Trump to pound sand and there is nothing that Trump can legally do if Apple choses to ignore Trump.

In an all-caps post on Truth Social today, U.S. President Donald Trump said Apple should fully end its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.

"APPLE SHOULD GET RID OF DEI RULES, NOT JUST MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO THEM," he wrote.

Apple recommended that shareholders vote against the proposal, labeling it as an attempt to "micromanage" the company's business operations. Apple said that it already actively monitors its operations to maintain compliance with applicable non‑discrimination laws. During the shareholder meeting, Apple CEO Tim Cook acknowledged that the company may be forced to make changes to its DEI policies in the future, as required by law. Trump believes that Apple should get rid of the policies, rather than modify them.

In any case, Cook told shareholders that Apple will always have a culture of belonging.

"We strive to create a culture of belonging where everyone can do their best work," said Apple, in its annual shareholders meeting notice.

Trump has criticized DEI programs since returning to the White House. Last month, he signed an executive order that "terminates 'diversity, equity, and inclusion' (DEI) discrimination in the federal workforce." In response, some other tech companies like Google have scaled back DEI policies in recent weeks.

I thought the government telling companies what to do is communism?

This guys a joke

In a free market Apple is free to do whatever they like in this regard. The entire point of the executive order was to limit what the government can tell companies to do. I'm glad Apple is doing this though.
I would disagree strongly that "the entire point" of the executive order was limiting what government can tell companies to do.

More than a$$le you should write "shareholders", because they have recommended to vote against DEI so they are against DEI.
Apple didn't recommend to vote against DEI. The proposal - submitted by independent conservative think tank - was to get rid of DEI - Apple recommended to keep the current DEI policies in place.

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
