You may think the man is a celebrity baboon but he is actually a genius because he has found a way to get all of the worlds countries to do what HE wants.
At some point you’ll find out that the rest of the world is playing a long game.
Just about everybody is reducing their reliance on the US.
This is an ongoing process that takes time, but they will get there in the end.

There is clearly a lot of one dimensional thinking going on in this thread which is if it effects my wallet negatively then I am against it and the person who created it. These one dimensional thinkers are not looking at the bigger picture which is to bring manufacturing back to the US, to give people jobs and money security rather than having tens of thousands of people homeless living on the streets and millions of people unemployed.

Don't you people want the US to have manufacturing back in the US? jobs and money for more Americans? Or are you too selfish in that you do not care about your country, you only care about you?

So you think Globalization happened by unintended accident?
Yeah, one dimensional thinking indeed.

Wow.

Again shows how tenuous Trump's grasp on reality is…

Apple Inc aren't "building" anything anywhere.

They use Foxconn and Tata Electronics in India to manufacture iPhones.

Foxconn and Tata Electronics are the ones doing the building.

SMFH.

Anyway, Tim Cook, better get your wallet out again.
Apple don’t build anything. They couldn’t. It’s too easy to exploit cheap labor elsewhere then blame a supplier.

Yup.

In 100 days Cheeto and the "religious" nuts at Project 2025 just screwed the USA for a Generation at least. All trust has evaporated with their allies.

I'm off to speedrun it and finish off Season 5 of the Handmaid's Tale. 😆

The rest of the world will pay a heavy price if they play it that way because when things go wrong the world looks to the US for help, they always have but this time the US will say 'nope, not this time, you go help yourselves'.

Which is exactly why they are and should keep reducing their reliance to the US? You are basically arguing they are doing the right thing.

To be fair though the US being seen as unreliable didn't start with Trump. Have we forgotten e.g. the 2003 Invasion of Iraq under George W. Bush? The global damage to the US reputation of that decision was staggering.

The US basically staked their very reputation on the unproven allegation that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction to justify their invasion. Fast forward a few years and the US had to admit that they were wrong and there were no weapon of mass destruction to justify their invasion.

Not to mention the whole "Freedom Fries" fiasco that came with it: a Congress representative renamed French Fries in the Congressional cafeterias to spite France for their objections to the invasion. He did prove himself truly a patriot afterwards, when he got to prison after being convicted for accepting bribes.

I would vote for Donald D if I could 😉

When the US have been intervening (or in many cases interfering) in the affairs of other countries it has always been to help themselves. They didn’t fight on WWII to help Europe. They did it to protect their own interests and secure their standing in the world order. Likewise with all conflicts ever since. If for whatever reason the US current allies were to fall, we would all pay a heavy price for it, US included. NATO is protecting the US as much as any other country in it. In spite of all their macho posturing, not even this administration would ever forget that.

Actually the US is clicking like no other. We finally have respect again. Love it! We are living in history of a man who is taking the US to the greatest heights it's ever been. Enjoy the ride!
Nope. Come back when you’ve checked back into reality. Absolutely no one in the world respects the U.S. presently. Everyone sees Trump as a boorish, petulant, childish criminal clown with zero credibility.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous for a multiple failure of a businessman, who has declared many bankruptcies, be able to push Apple to change their strategy. It makes me extremely angry. I wish Tim Cook would tell Trump to send his plans for Apple where the sun doesn't shine, because Tim has more intelligence than Trump ever could have, in his little finger.

Apple is a great company, and Trump is a terrible President with no clue what is going on.

I only read about dictators/fascism in textbooks. Never would I think I would experience one in realtime.

It's honestly a bit fascinating (but mostly sad) how a person can consolidate power like this. Lies, populism, purge enemies internally, threats, violence, ignore laws once power is consolidated, etc. I only read about this stuff in history books.

All the while Trump launched his own meme crypto currency, selling NFTs, accepting a personal $400m plane donation from a foreign country, helping his buddies manipulate the market. What do his voters think about him getting rich through scams, bribes, corruption?
It's worth noting that the 'gift' requires a billion dollars to bring it up to being suitable for the name 'Airforce One', including all the computers, security upgrades, and everything else.

Jesus red hats, are you people the party of small government or not? Does private business get to do what it wants only if you are okay with it?

It's the same thing with women's bodies. The party of small government until you don't like how someone else lives, then you want your government to do something to demand how someone else lives.

Haha, Apple is not going to be assembling iPhones in the United States. They never have. There’s nothing to bring back. It’s a typical Trump statement that everyone should ignore.

it takes months/years to build factories and reroute complex supply chains.

It takes seconds for trump to announce a tweet applying infinity plus one % tariffs on a country while sitting on the can.
There's no real way to get around this except bank on trump's short term memory.

Or maybe apple can donate trump a new plane.

Tell him they are developing a new Apple aircraft especially for him. It will be done in conjunction with developing the Apple car.

This is weird. "We have put up with you building in India" or something like that.

Who is "We"? Who are these bosses in the chambers?

Just the other day I saw him saying that he was not sure if he needed to comply with the American Constitution.

Are Americans in general in this or ok with this?

Honest question.

He's accomplished so much in 100 days...did Biden accomplish anything except open the borders?

What has he actually and objectively accomplished for Americans? Respect? Who did not respect Americans before: Canada, UK, Germany, Spain, France ...? Has Russia along with North Korea respected America more?

Honest question.

PS: I don't see his action to be towards anything but recession. In a recession the very rich get richer, that is how he kick started his large fortune backed by his father money ... and the story tells he almost went bankrupt several times after with casinos and real state.

He just got himself a $400M plane on the back of a government deal in Qatar I heard. If true, is this OK? Is this for also for the benefit of Americans? Where is the respect here?

But hey, maybe I am mistaken. Hope so.
