Actually, you have to be a citizen to work fr he TSA.
I looked it up.

Just as expected. There's no way they'd hire illegal immigrants for American security. These guys are supposed to be keeping terrorists off of planes and prevent smuggling.

DFU restore would solve that small problem.

And just so you guys know, you don't have to take iPad's out at TSA checkpoints. Only laptops.

Are you sure? They make you take phones and laptops out, so I don't see why tablets would be an exception. They're basically netbooks with no keyboard.

Nope. Just pointing out the stupidity of your own post.

What's 'stupid' is that you can't see the difference between an American citizen and a citizen of another country. Our Armed Forces work for the people. Our emergency services work for the people and the Government works for the people. When trust issues start developing the whole system begins to lock down. Terrorism is just propaganda for most of these 'security' risks. How many times in the history of the Untied States has something such as 9/11 happened? These events are few and far between.

Do you remember the Oklahoma City bombings?
Do you remember the busy caught at the Canadian border trying to slip into the USA to commit another attack.
Do you remember the first World Trade Center attack?
Are you aware of all the other planned attacks that where stopped before anything could happen?

Here's 40 of them to start:

phones, tablets, ipads stay in bags.
Laptops, xbox's, PS3's, projectors come out.

On the one hand I do feel sorry for the guy because no matter where he goes it will be 'Oh, you're the guy who stole the iPad'. On the other hand, I am surprised that people just get fired for this: Shouldn't theft be prosecuted? If some homeless person stole an iPad, they'd get jail time.

The TSA has the power to examine your luggage when you travel on an airplane. With power comes responsibility. I would actually argue that any TSA officer who steals from luggage that he examines should be punished much harder than any normal thief, because he is undermining the TSA, thus undermining security and supporting terrorists.

Totally agree.

The government has thwarted many terrorist plots, as I have heard. I don't mind being restricted a little so that our cities won't get blown up. And the TSA frequently singles me out because I don't look like my dad, who has Syrian citizenship (and US citizenship, of course). They're profiling, but it's not a huge inconvenience, so I don't care. It's worth it.

can they do that if the iPad is locked?

No, but they surely can turn the iPad off.
