This was at 7:00. I was 18th in line and picked up 2 32 wifi black for my wife and myself. They had a mixture of AT&T but no black 32 by the time I got up to the front. There were about 20 people behind me so if you are close to the store you might still get one or two.

Thanks. Was after the AT&T 32GB Black. I live 5 mins away in Aviara and drove by and must've sold everything because there looked to be no one left.

Seems like everyone in line ahead of me was saving a spot for 5 additional people each, cause they all just showed up.

I arrived at 8:30 and was told only a 64GB Verizon was left.

I just left, will try tomorrow.

The ones closest to me got an earful...and then actually left the line

I know it is easier said on a forum than in person, but I would like to think that even if I saw someone at the front of the line letting 5 people in & I was number 50 in line, I would shout all the way up there to ask what is up with that.

As you probably saw from the people closest to you, guilt can be a strong motivator & if you can get those in line around you to join in, a mob mentality can be the best enforcement tool.

My store sold out within an hour of opening. Luckily I was able to get my ATT 64gb.

I follow Andy Ihnatko as well, but I find this claim to be BS. Apple does not ship "large quantities" to all their stores equally. They have inventory management systems that tell them which stores need more inventory. Why would they send a large shipment to an Apple Store in the middle of Wisconsin and overload them when an Apple Store in NYC/Atlanta/Chicago/etc has ten times the demand?

The production pipeline may be picking up and stores may see their shipments get larger, but I doubt that the store that was only getting 8-10 iPads a day up to now will start getting shipments of 50-100 units.

I don't know what to tell you - success rate seems to be pretty high here today, doesn't it? Reality seems to disagree with your assessment.

Got AT&T 64 GB Blk this morning in Walnut Creek. They seemed to have a lot of different models available. Was in and out in about 1 hour! Finally!

Got one at the apple store at Sherman Oaks, CA... There were about 50 in line and only 1 person didn't get a ticket... Sucks!! He had to do the walk of shame....

Finally got a 64GB AT&T. Bridgeport Village (Portland, OR) ran out before they got to me, but was able to get the next to last from Washington Square. I think they must have had over 100 total, maybe a lot more.

What time did you check Washington Square? I thought about going over there but I figured they were all gone.

Picked up a black, 64gb, AT&T at the Apple Store in Lakeside Mall (Metairie, LA). There were about 50 or so people in line this morning, I got there at 8:50 am. Another dozen or so lined up behind me.

Looked like everyone got what the wanted, the store seemed to have another 30 or so on the cart behind the counter after my purchase. Less than 2 hrs in and out. I'm stoked! Cancelled my online order this morning too.

Super glad I read through these forums over the last several days and thanks to everyone who posts info.

There had to be at least 200 units at Westfarms today. They still had wifi model sto sell until well after 10AM this morning, which was 45 minutes after I snagged the last 3G model. There were at least 50 people ahead of me in line. It took 1.75 hours from getting my ticket to leaving the store.

I would be so angry / sad if I saw that.

I was angry, but what could I do? I feel bad for these people that standing in lines for hours on end is a productive task for them. Two of the people by me barely spoke English; I have to wonder if they're somehow "indentured" servants and this is their way of paying their masters?

I'm lucky that i was able to blow a morning standing in line for a toy. I'd hate to be someone who had to stand there because my pimp told me to.

Darn! I wish I knew Lakeside had them! I am in Baton Rouge and the Apple store here has had a few trickling in each day. Mostly Verizon though and I am looking for the exact same model as yours.

Good luck on scoring yours!

I got there about 7:20 and they were handing out tickets. When I bought it about 9:30 they still have some Verizon units left but not many.

Forgot to mention a funny thing a security guard said while I was waiting in line. He was trying to make us all leave and said "there aren't any new iPods so you guys should leave." lol yea we came for the iPods.

Everyone in line except for 1 person got tickets at the Sherman Oaks apple store. I got there at 7 and was 12th in line. When they started giving out tickets, the line was about 60-70 ppl at most. Felt sorry for the only guy who didn't get a ticket. :(

It baffles me why people insist on waiting in line at 6 am when you can easily be notified of available stock at Target via the Python script posted in another thread. I was notified via email, went right to my local Target, and walked out with the iPad 2 I wanted 10 minutes later. And that's in a major metropolitan area...

Fellow Portlanders How does everybody know when I ipad is in stock at the apple store? Do you just go there in the morning or call the store to find out its in stock if so what time?
