hmmm.... If you try to convince viewers of copyright infringes, then you might as well join the suing bandwagon. I love apple products but you gotta be realistic and not dogmatic. which is why i stated the A720 uses a mobile CPU. I don't want a mobile CPU and that is why i haven't stated if i will be buying it or not, because i won't - if i want a PC, a Dell XPS 8500 is way better on the price as well specs. in that case, i dont want a PC either, just expressing my opinions about this new product on the market.......

I don't care much for copyright in this sense, but I do dislike if people just blatantly copy stuff instead of trying to show some creativity. Regardless, my main point is that the iMac clearly offers more for significantly less money. So why are you talking about catching up to the inferior product?

catching up in a sense, to offer much more for the premium price  which is highly unlike of Apple. it would be pretty upsetting if the new iMacs still had 4GB standard memory and 500GB for even the base model..... as some guy mentioned earlier, retina display and anti-glare are trivial updates; anti-glare should have used a couple years ago and retina display is not really needed if yo are going for the 27" model. Anyhow, i can't wait for these new iMacs and hope that all this waiting is going to be worth it.

Apple doesn't need to "keep up", it's already ahead.

in what ways, please explain and do exclude the OS. we all know that OS X is far ahead but are the specs really?:p

Umh... The Lenovo costs 1900$, the base 27" iMac costs $1699 and offers comparable CPU/faster GPU, same sized HDD and a much better display. Sure, the iMac hass less RAM (which aftermarket RAM for $50 will easily correct). The iMac is clearly better bang for buck.

If you want a 1080p display, the higher-end 21" iMac matches and/or surpasses Levono's specs for $400 less. So again, what catching up are you talking about?

Get yourself a Nikon D800 instead... Slightly cheaper and a better camera IMO. I handled both recently and chose the D800.

EDIT: Just noticed chippy posted the same thing!

They are both great cameras. I have all my Canon lenses so will be sticking with Canon. I shoot lots of low light so the Mkiii's noise levels and image quality are better (probably because of fewer pixels), but Nikon at 36 megapixels is a wow. I just see it like the Windows vs Aple argument, purely personal preference, and how you prefer working.

I would love a proper go with the Nikon.

I suppose you are right. shall i get you a cookie for your extraordinary discoveries?:D

Looks like a Monday and not a Tuesday, and that's good

From this morning's Wall Street Journal Market Watch . . .

"... Apple’s annual developers’ conference set to start on June 11, there has been growing belief that the company will soon show off a new iMac in a big way, ahead of the back-to-school and holiday-shopping seasons."

and

"Analysts also say they expect demand for the new Mac line to be high due in part to evidence from NPD about declining Mac sales in April and March. Reitzes said the NPD data indicated Mac unit shipments were down 13.5% in April from a year ago, and that was on the heels of a 16% year-over-year decline in March."

New iMac cometh soon!

Probably since :apple: has a new CEO, Mac releases will no longer be yearly? I was just thinking 'bout this halfway reading this thread. Any ideas on this?

What does the new CEO have to do with the price of tea in China?

Yes. That makes total financial sense since Apple is run by imbeciles and the new CEO has not worked at Apple for over ten years so he obviously has no idea what to do. /sarcasm
