Yea I went to the Hornsby store in NSW to get the Apple TV 4K and the store was busy but certainly no lines.
Not really . That would mean the x you bought, would loose its retail value fast as apple re-implements touchid and removes the notch. Apple reacts to sales , not sure feedback
I'm sure someone has refuted your posts already, but a new iPhone will cost $1286 for the 8 Plus 256GB and $1475 for the 8 Plus 256GB assuming prices consistent with the 7 and 7 Plus. It should be a little lower because there are only two tiers this year of 64/256GB, but the US price is $50 more for the entry-level 64GB than previous launch models. You just have to figure about 30% import tax plus an additional tax around 10% for shipping and other fees depending on the country that Apple sells to.
I'm not sure if you are misinformed or have an agenda to demolish capitalism. I definitely wouldn't feel safe carrying around any iPhone in South Africa if thieves could tell the difference between an iPhone 4 and an entry-level Android phone.

I was seriously considering getting an 8 Plus instead of waiting for the X.
Then I went to Costco and compared OLED and LED TVs, and realized I would be crazy to not wait for the X. The OLED contrast and HDR makes an insane difference.
Depends. If you mean orders placed relative to available stock, then certainly. If you mean the number of phones shipped, then quite the opposite. The fewer there are for the 8, the more there will be for the X. This is just a sign that X demand will be OFF THE CHARTS. My prediction: the X will be the most quickly sold phone ever.
In a hypothetical world that would be true. However, in the real world we both know that is not going to be the case.
Is anyone surprised?
Nobody wants to buy an iPhone 8 when there is a better phone like the iPhone X. Plus at this point, especially next to the X, the iPhone 8 design looks so old and stale. If you can afford to drop £700-950 then what's another £50-£300? Might as well wait for the better phone.
No doubt Apple will try spin this as "We never expected this kind of demand! Our customers LOVE it!" and it just gives them even more reason to keep charging stupid amounts of money for a phone. £1,000 is ridiculous imo. I wanted to come back to iPhone but looks like I won't be coming back for a long time yet...if ever.
i think anyone who can drop £700+ on a phone isn't going to miss another £300. some people just have more money than sense especially when it comes to Apple.I couldn't care less if interest is "bleak". I just got an SMS to notify me that my iPhone 8 Plus is ready for collection at my Vodafone store. It's killing me softly....I just need to finish work and get down there asap!

Speak for yourself. Your notion of only 300more is over 30% more and that's a huge amount to a lot of people.....
Delusion is a funny thing.
neither is people picking up Xs on release date due to lack of demand![]()

i'm not paying £1,000 for a phone and was interested in the X. I could have looked at the iPhone 8 but £700 is still a ridiculous amount of money for a phone and no way am I paying £700 for a phone that looks/performs worse.
How interesting.
Apple has disabled store pickup, giving the illusion the iPhone 8 is popular and on backorder.
They had stock at my local Apple store this morning.
It's not just 30% more though, £1000 is 43% more than £700.Speak for yourself. Your notion of only 300more is over 30% more and that's a huge amount to a lot of people.....
