My siri isn't working as well. B2. I have also noticed dictation hasn't been working like reddit thread states since two days ago.

I'd still rather have 7.1 safari performance over siri on ipad air, but it is lame indeed.

I wonder if it is something that could be fixed, like something as simple as changing what server siri is pointing to in a text file or something...

Ehh...is what it is. We all knew the risks of staying on a jailbroken beta software. Sacrificing spoken dictation and Siri is well worth the increased safari stability on 64 bit devices.

Same sentiments on rMini, 7.1 of any type on arm64 is appreciated.

On iPhone 5, really I only used Siri to set alarms and that's about it but still a bit of a bummer on principle :(

Same. It's a strange tactic on Apples part.

I don't know if it was a conscious tactic, they might just wipe beta support on Siri servers with every new beta iteration. I don't think there's been betas since 7.1 have there?

That's what I'm thinking. If they really wanted to 'stick it to us,' they'd can iMessage support all together. Though, not sure if the API/back end stuff for that component is identical to 7.0.4/7.0.6 or not.

Who knows, too bad someone technical doesn't have a better explanation

Yea - I'm doubting it's an intentional 'stick it to you', because of imessage and facetime, like you said.

Hopefully, when iOS8 is jailbroken, we don't have to choose between the lesser of two evils again, regarding what version we should use

No kidding, iOS 7 was the strangest JB experience ive had.

Yeah I'm still glad I went the b2 route in the end.

Hopefully iOS 8.0 is solid and not a step back from 7.1 betas.

On my iPhone 5 if I stay with this device or even iPhone 6 without some Device/firmware specific quirks

Amen. This was the most frustrating jb I've had.

I went ahead and turned off Siri in Settings>General>Restrictions

Was getting tired of accidentally hitting dictation and having a blank prompt

I shut off Siri also. I haven't checked, but is there a way to turn back on that speak to type that was in the iPhone 3GS and 4, prior to Siri?

Not sure. My memory is rusty but I don't remember this being a thing pre-4s?

My thoughts are if that was the case it's probably not any longer as it's for sure now shoehorned into Siri.

But if someone could correct me, I'd be happy to know myself! :)

I just faintly remember Voice Control(?) being capable of typing out speech and there was a tweak to default to that instead of Siris. But you might be right and they yanked it to give attention to Siri.
