How you get it with cydia since for me I have the pb of the teak is only for <= 7.05 ... ;( I try to edit the 7.1-> 7.0.4 in SystemVersion.plist, but cydia see always me as 7.1.
(I am on beta 3)

Might be too late. If you do it way later sometimes cydia doesn't pick up on it.

well that's annoying...

After finding the method to properly remove expiry and also the first method to restore betas after they had expired, I hadn't counted on SHSH signing for b3 being closed so suddenly.

Was testing out 7.0.6 on my main device and got caught out so no more beta jailbreak for me :(

At least my iPad mini is still on b3

Ahh!! Sorry to hear :(

Thank you for your write ups :)

^ And about the above yea, cydia doesn't seem to always pick it up.. Never figured out a way to get cydia to recheck. I spoofed my version first thing straight off a fresh restore after having that issue.

ok thank, I find another way to patch with this one:

I try it with a local compile with theos and looks fine ;)

Man, am I sorry to hear. that sucks! Are you becoming complacent and learning to love 7.0.6 or still wish for 7.1b3? 7.1b3 still standing strong on my 5s, but every so often I get that 7.0.6 itch for cross the board compatibility. Thoughts?

7.0.6 is so weak. Don't even think about it. Yes, there are some tweaks that don't work on b3 but having been caught out on my iPhone and then had my iPad get stuck in an irrecoverable boot loop yesterday I am gutted. Even with sped up animations etc there is so much lag and bugginess that it's just horrible.

The full compatibility things is literally the *only* consolation but I'd give up 90% of my tweaks to be back on b3 with just one or two.

:(

Sorry, haven't been able to follow from the beginning: if you need a modded DEB file with changed iOS version dependencies, let me know and I quickly mod the installer. Then, there won't be any need for full binary recompilation.

(Sorry if this isn't the case - I've been working with benchmarking different compiler setups, fat binaries, integer division etc. for my latest pathfinder module all my time.)

Yeah, confirmed: all betas except for the latest version are no longer being signed.

Translation: be very careful with your phones, otherwise you may need to restore and then be stuck with 7.1b5 (non-jailbreakable) or 7.0.6 (jailbreakable but eughhghg <7.1).

I'm really not trying to rub this in to jonmiller or the like , but I'm very thankful for this thread. 7.1b3 has been very solid for me. Safari is great ++ on iPad air.

I am grateful for jonmillers 2 cents as well, or by this point, 80 cents :D

its sad the stars have to be aligned, beta version and jailbreak (the second has always been the case), for me to be content. but it takes what it takes. Apple standards are dropping even from a stock-reliability standpoint yet mine are not.

Thanks for sharing! I'll keep b3 as long as humanly possible on this end. God speed my friend!

Is 7.0.6 noticeably worse on your iPhone as well? I forget, 5 or 5s?

i may downgrade to 7.0.6 to ensure all tweak compatibility in the future, without any problems. Im gonna try using this modification (not just sped up) for the animations found on reddit.
Can anyone convince me to stay on 7.1b3?

7.1b3 is infinitely faster, more stable, has way better battery life, and is less annoying (little tweaks here and there such as short vibrations when inside messaging app, etc).

The worst advice I ever followed was to downgrade to 7.0.4/7.0.6. You will regret it if you do it.

Ironically the crashes seem less on 7.0.6 but not sure if that was deliberate on Apple's part.

Seriously, don't do it. I know it's tempting but I seriously regret doing it on my 5s and then when my rMini screwed up I was doubly gutted.

I'm actually seriously tempted to ditch jailbreak and go to stock b5 I hate it that much. So much lag, so much bugginess - you forget what a difference 7.1 makes until you lose it...

Yes if you have it, I was trying to compile SSLPatch from github rpetrich/SSLPatch but it fails I used theos but the other patch from github linusyang/SSLPatch which looks ok.
Difficult to be completely sure but no other solution ;)
Thank you

The only change I made was removing the 7.0.6 dependency (and repacking the DEB).

It should work. Just make sure you do a full reboot after installing it.

EDIT: I've tested my DEB version on my 7.0.4-spoofed 7.1b3 iPad3 with gotofail.com. Works just great. So does the same tweak on my true 7.0.4 iPhone 5. I've tested gotofail.com at the same time on my other, non-JB'n, non-updated 7.0.4 iPad 3. Of course the latter failed.

EDIT 2: uploaded a new version with a modded package name so that it doesn't clash with the original, resulting in Cydia's constantly thinking there's an update for my version. Just uninstall the old tweak and install the new (new link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u....sslpatchAlliOS7versions_1.0_iphoneos-arm.deb ) and respring.

I wonder how drastic the difference is between 7.0.x and 7.1 on 32 bit.

I'd imagine still a good amount right

See my earlier posts and benchmarks.

Generally, I'd say the difference is small on iPads (compared on the iPad 3) and significantly larger on iPhones (compared on the iPhone 5).

Both are significantly smaller than on 64-bit models, where 7.1 is pretty much a must to avoid constant crashing. Not so on 32-bit ones, where 7.0.x is OK.

Ah interesting. Yeah I never bothered experimenting on my iPhone 5 because 7.0.4 on my rMini was unusable IMO.

I'd prefer 6.1.2 iPad 3 to it.

I've no major problems with 7.0.4 on my iPhone 5. It isn't worse than 6.x. Neither is on the iPad 3.

Thank you, even if the other linusyang/SSLPatch looks fine with gotofail.com ;)
I will install the rpetrich solution if I find issue or pb
cheers,
