  • BT audio support
  • Custom movie playlists for purchased movies ( vs just recent and genre categories)
  • Apple TV Wishlist movies should also display in iTunes & vice versa
  • Ability to read user movie reviews ( currently can only read rotten tomato reviews)
  • Ability to swipe through apps just like iPhone X . (current method you have to tap home all the way out and dig in again)
  • Purchased movies should no longer appear in the Apple TV Store. (can be very cumbersome searching through movies when you've purchased hundreds of movies)

I would love for them to be a bit more liberal with controller support. Would be great to use a decent Bluetooth controller, such as Nintendo's or Sony's without having to jailbreak.

Have you tried the SteelSeries Nimbus? I use one all the time with a side-load of Provenance and it’s great for everything from the NES up to the N64.

My biggest want from Apple TV would be Enterprise Distribution. It’s impossible to make a corporate app for Apple TV as it has to be put on the App Store (or you have to manually side load every Apple TV in the organisation and again if you release an update).

oooohhh and a UberEats partnership app, that allows you to order Popcorn & Soda, Snacks, Hotdogs or even Chinese Food.

Just having a error free OS would be great. How about just fixing the OS before adding new features which are bound to cause more headaches.

Tell me why I can’t have Safari on my Apple TV. I want it.

[*]Safari - Apple isn't likely to add Safari to the Apple TV to allow for web browsing, but it's still a feature at least one MacRumors reader would like to see available as an option.
This. Even if it's only implemented to allow one to connect to a hotel wifi where you inevitably have to use a browser to enter some code or a room number or whatever. I love traveling with my AppleTV but find it unusable on most hotel wifi connections because of this.

1) TV -> iPhone/iPad mirroring. I want to the TV screen to be mirrored on my phone so I can touch and swipe on elements from my phone, not look at the TV while swiping on the phone. I want to tap on the image of the movie, not swipe down and right to move a cursor around. I want to control the music/video playback while I'm in another room.

2) FaceTime support on AppleTV. As in I want it to be able to accept a usb camera so I can FaceTime the grandparents without holding an iPad up while sitting on the couch with the kids trying to get everyone in the picture.

3) Third party screensavers... with support for music visualizations like the Winamp Visualizer days. Or support for live web cameras, or simply playing videos like those 4k relaxation videos on YouTube.

4) Enforced standard video playback... The YouTube app is killing the video experience. Jumping ahead in a video is near impossible and getting closed captions to appear and disappear is a chore and a half.

5) Better music support. When playing music, it should give one tap access to the music controls, even if you are on the Home screen, in another app. Even getting to the controls from within the Music app is awful if you've navigated away.

Get rid of apps. Browse by content in a list, THEN show links to the providers that offer it.

Pause the Photos screensaver when showing Photos, hit Select to show that photo in your library.

Multi-User Support. That is the Achilles heel of iOS an all non-iPhone derivative devices that naturally require it.

Multi-User Support is all but required on the iPad, the HomePod, and the ATV for family use. (One can even make the case for the iPhone to support a scaled-down two user environment -- a master context and a user context.)

But iOS has been modeled after one user-one device, not surprising as Apple derives profit from such model. But the one-user one-device model does not scale to family use.

As profit drives today's Apple (regardless of Cook's claims), multi-user support remains a pipe dream, -- on the ATV and elsewhere.

Simply:

- Siri available everywhere, just like on the iPhone.

I would even use that English Siri in Poland, but a COMPLETE LACK OF SIRI even in English is really depressing.

Auto-switch resolution!

Right now, I have to navigate to Settings and switch between 1080p and 4K.

Please just enable resolution switching so that he native signal, whatever it may be, is sent to my TV with no upscaling.

I played with one of these in the store the other day. I though the remote was pretty cool but I can't see a use for it at this point and this wishlist does not give me hope. I have a Tivo and a FireStick currently. I don't feel like I'm lacking anything. People here mention gaming and I can't imagine this thing ever competing with a standalone gaming console or computer.

What ever happened to Steve Jobs 'figuring TV out"?

Also, this list tells me that Steve Jobs was right when he said he tells the people what they want instead of giving them what they want. If this list is any indication, what the people want is just lame and underwhelming.

Just cut to the chase, get rid of the whole thing except the YouTube app. That's all the kids use these days.

Apple had a chance so long ago with podcasts, iWeb, etc. etc. but blew it. So sad.

My wishlist is much different:

- I'd like videos in the Photos app to support 4k

- I want better integration with my HomePod; meaning I want to turn on/off tv with my voice! And of course all of the other options like search.

- I want improved single sign-on; I am constantly being disconnected from my channel apps and have to re-login. Very annoying.

- I want them to fix the bug where the connection to the HomePod is disconnected

- I want MUCH better gaming

- I'd take Maps or Safari; not sure how much I'd use

- I still don't get the TV app. What can be done to improve?

- Lagging; on my Apple TV 4k I still get occasional lagging; even after I updated my HDMI cable to the latest (straight from the apple store)

- Can you please make my remote beep when it is lost? Find-my-remote would be helpful. Ha.
Thank you! My #1 wish is better integration with HomePod (how did they miss this in the first place?). We should definitely be able to turn Apple TV on and off, adjust volume, search, play, pause, etc. through voice commands.
[doublepost=1527205598][/doublepost]I would also like for Apple TV to remember what episode you last watched in a multi-season TV show. I am a "Survivor" fan and EVERY time I want to watch the newest episode I have select "survivor" then hit "seasons" then scroll to the current season that I purchased on iTunes. Yes, it is a perfect example of a "first world problem" but it is extremely annoying to go through the extra steps every single time you want to watch the newest episode.

Apple TV needs Safari.

Inputing passwords, app names, etc..should be much easier. Put a small BlackBerry-like keyboard on the remote.

iTunes could stream all the content in the store. Make it like Netflix.

I just want SSO to work across all my apps on both my AppleTVs. Tired of always having to re-sign onto apps on each of my AppleTV's when I don't use it for a while.

The remote is horrible. That's what needs to be replaced.

I'd like to change the "Computers" app so I can 1) mark items watched or unwatched (it used to be able to do this), 2) reorder the screen so I don't have to keep scrolling to the TV shows section when that's where I almost always go. 3) get rid of the "recent items" view in the Computers app altogether - I'll decide what I want to see displayed, not Apple, thank you.

A new remote with FindMyiPhone support (ie a remote with a small speaker so I can find it in the couch cushions). Please please pretty please.

Audio passthrough? Yes! and Yes! The ability to completely control Apple Music thru the Apple TV app...no need to turn on the tv. Please! Control the Apple TV with Siri and HomeKit. OMG! Please! Think about the Apple TV, and ask, “What would Steve do”? Yes. Yes. Yes.
The Apple TV is the most un-Apple-like product that Apple makes.
