Agree with this, as others said as well. A visualizer.
Honestly, there are some songs I love to listen to, but not a fan of the artwork, and don't want that art blown on my wall while listening to that track.
[doublepost=1527339289][/doublepost]Another minor thought on hardware. ATV remote suffers from the same thing the iPhone X suffers from:
Tough to tell which side of the device is up in the dark! .... common Apple, it's the simple things that matter.
They should ditch the touch. Bring back the ring.

Atmos? You need to have speakers installed in the ceiling or special upward facing speakers that bounce sound off the ceiling in order for that to even make a difference.

Apple never promised Atmos but it would be nice for people with a home theater setup.

There was one rumor about Atmos posted in the Verge at the time the ATV4K was released. The source of the rumor said stuff about Siri on the ATV which was wrong, too.

Every article since then is just repeating that one unofficial comment.

+1 on multi-user support with the ability to create a watch later or universal playlist across all apps. And possibly a better TV app... the current is not intuitive and I've found it more or less unusable.

Audio pass through is a big one. Why can't the ATV output a Dolby Digital Plus steam? It's what's used on Netflix and Amazon so Apple's lack of support for it is baffling. The options at present are old school Dolby Digital or stereo PCM (if you're using ARC to a receiver/soundbar)

YouTube 4K HDR. Again, another crazy omission. Give Google the codec support they need and stop being so pig headed.

Broadcast HDR support -Hybrid Log Gamma. Broadcasters have settled on HLG as their HDR format of choice. It's broadly supported on smart TVs now, but Apple haven't even mentioned it.

Better support for the TV app. I see the potential, but the lack of apps which support it makes it fairly useless. The lack of Netflix in particular kills it dead.

Better apps. Difficult for Apple to enforce, other than kicking them off the app store, but some apps here in the UK for big services are just truly abysmal. Now TV for example (essentially our stand in for HBO) is an old Apple TV 2 app and hasn't been touched in many years. It barely functions even on the most basic level.

Extend the TV app to include TV schedules and coming soon content. And fix the bugs with it too, it's a mess.

3. In The UK an All4 app (it's the only terrestrial broadcaster not on Apple TV)
Channel 4 announced in a tweet A few days ago (apparently that's how it's done these days) that they're working on All4 for the ATV. So it's coming, but who knows when. Just don't expect it to be in HD.

Playlists are already available.

I have a lot of movies stored that I watch through my AppleTV, and have playlists for most of the letters of the alphabet (some are grouped), plus a few for entire series like the Sopranos, West Wing, Star Trek and so on.

Works great.

- Can you please make my remote beep when it is lost? Find-my-remote would be helpful. Ha.

YES YES YES!!!
[doublepost=1527522207][/doublepost]I would like to see a karaoke-style lyrics support for Apple Music in Apple TV ... my kids love singing!

At the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple will introduce new versions of iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS, and for those latter two updates, we have no idea what to expect.

Historically, Apple hasn't introduced major changes in its tvOS updates, but the operating system is still new and there could be some larger scale changes in the works for 2018. We've asked MacRumors readers what they'd most like to see in tvOS 12, and this is what they had to say.

[*]Atmos support - Apple promised to add Dolby Atmos support to the Apple TV, and has yet to do so. tvOS 12 would be the ideal time to do so, and it's certainly a feature many MacRumors readers want.
[*]Audio passthrough - Along those same lines, MacRumors readers would also like to see support for digital audio passthrough.
[*]Picture-in-picture - A classic feature on a lot of television sets, picture-in-picture mode is not supported on the Apple TV. MacRumors reader Bbednarz would like to see picture-in-picture added for watching multiple shows, watching a show while using an app, and more.
[*]Safari - Apple isn't likely to add Safari to the Apple TV to allow for web browsing, but it's still a feature at least one MacRumors reader would like to see available as an option.
[*]Open screensavers - The Apple TV can only display screensavers that are sourced from Apple, but it would be nice to be able to add non-Apple screensaver options if desired.
[*]tvOS App Store access via computer - MacRumors reader HobeSoundDarryl has a long wishlist for tvOS 12, including a suggestion for an option to browse through tvOS apps on a Mac or PC to make it easier to discover tvOS apps.
[*]iCloud playlists for movies and TV shows - You can create playlists for Apple Music, and Leon1988 would like to see that same functionality made available for television shows and movies on the Apple TV.
[*]Multi-user support - Each Apple TV is limited to a single iCloud and iTunes account, but multi-user support, as suggested by MacRumors reader The 12th Man, would make it easier for different family members to have access to their favorite apps and channels and suggestions through the TV app without having to mix content.

What do you want to see added to the Apple TV with tvOS 12? Let us know in the comments, and make sure to check out the full tvOS 12 wishlist thread.

A "hospitality feature" would be interesting! With subscription OTT services including DIRECTVNOW, Sling, Netflix, and Hulu on the rise, hotels and even Airbnb offering cable as part of a rental is now overlap (if domestic). This is an opportunity for Apple to partner with lodging companies with a feature to bring guests' home AppleTV experience on the road. Apple could charge hotels for the feature (lower than the cost of cable) and offer a split on any rentals from the room.

The feature could be a single sign in and your at home living room experience is brought on the road OR, for example, link Apple ID and Hilton accounts to where when you check in, the AppleTV is logged in and everything is set up!
