But you had no problem accepting what the last Twitter regime was implementing for their version of ‘free speech’ ? Banning people that didn’t deserve it, shadow banning without notice or cause according to their policy. Even some of the democrats were recognizing the power they were weilfing at their own will.
As it was said before, Twitter is a private company. There is no "freedom of speech" when it comes to a private company. That is what makes Musk's soapboxing about "free speech" a complete crock. It is only the speech HE WANTS, and is trying to disguise it as "free speech". To paraphrase an old saying, If it smells like crap, and looks like crap, it probably is crap.

Here in the US you can use a prepaid credit card paid for in cash with zero registration, and there’s tons of ways to verify a text without a real phone let alone a prepaid sim

The one thing Elon Musk wants, like every narcissist, is adulation. He wants the people to adore him; but most of all, he wants more: he wants RESPECT. And what he, like every other narcissist fails to understand, is that respect is earned, and not bestowed. To gain that respect, not only does he have to give respect, but he has to be the example of one deserving that respect. To show that, one must have redeeming qualities worthy of that respect; the most of those being CHARACTER, and INTEGRITY.
He has already shown a lack of integrity with banning the journos, banning those who are critical of him, and making up rules to cover his tracks showing that lack of integrity, while grandstanding about free speech.
From that, he has shown a lack of character by displaying his hypocrisy with his stance on free speech.
He's deserving of the criticism he is getting from his actions, and until he starts to show that integrity and character, he will never get the respect he craves.

I don’t care how much any paid for it or what political affiliation they’ve declared. Cause, let’s be honest, that’s what this is all about. I’m not going to be a sheep and just complain for the sake of complaining when I haven’t been negatively impacted.

I've got at least 20 sims from different countries, some of which I needed ID for some of which I didn't.
I also get calls from numbers that if you ring back will tell you they never called (spoofed number), credit cards numbers are to an extent imminently (Emilyly) hackable.
ie. this won't stop bots and fake accounts, it will just put a higher price on such services.
