Where can I get me one of them Twitbooks? :p

I think these features look like good additions for people who use the Twitter. I don't think it's a coincidence that this is happening right around when Lion appears to be getting some level of Twitter integration.

As long as this integration would be done smartly in Lion (e.g. not listing Twitter in contextual menus as a choice unless you have this option activated somewhere in preferences), I don't see a problem with it.

Is the 21st century going to be the absolute death of personal privacy?
Twitter in the iOS?
Really?

I guess no one noticed the iPhone and Mac being used in the video....

Makes the Twitter x iOS5 integration more believable IMO

Twitter

Didn't like twitter because of the auto feeds that were popping in and the direct spam messages.

Anything Twitter related will never be a sell for me. I cannot get on that bandwagon, as much as I feel like I should.

Brett Dennen rocks and Sydney is a great song!

but I don't use Twitter, tried tweeting or ****ting and wasn't successful with getting a response so i dropped it altogether. tried to use twitter as a contact us for a business, they never replied. i just got the feeling of spam users on there while i tried it out.

cool

This is cool. Clicking on links to images on 3rd party sites is kind of annoying so hopefully this will replace some of those seemingly ubiquitous instagram pics.

For those people saying they don't like twitter, try using it to replace your RSS feeds i.e. instead of subscribing to the macrumors RSS feed, just follow them on twitter. It has replaced most of my RSS feeds and the live-updating desktop app is great.

I still dont get the whole twitter thing. At least with FB, you can get and give comments back.. Twitter seems to be so "me" focused. Great for celebs and such.. but do I really care about the 20+ tweets one of my friends puts out every day?

Twitter - the tool of narcissists.

We Americans are in trouble - no new technology to get us out of the hole, just twitter and facebook to amuse the plebs.

How about a shared app that helps solve some scientific lines of inquiry? Guess not.

rant off.

Ok. So does this mean we can finally get everybody off facebook?
...if it can do more than facebook... my gods do i hate the facebook.

Maybe I'll finally have to try out a twitter account.

Haters...the lot of you. You don't have to use it. Stay where you are grandpa and watch all the traffic go by from your stoop.

Yeah, you weren't using Twitter correctly. It has MUCH more to offer.

Oh well...

i dont even have any friends i "talk to" on twitter, i just use it as my diary basically so i can go back later and check what i did on a certain day lolol and to read some news feeds and celeb bs

Tbh it's about time twitter did this. I understand they want to try and keep it simple but this seems like an essential feature twitter should have and it should have been implemented a long time ago.

Still, good to see its finally here.

Wrong. Twitter is just one of the tool narcissists use, another is Facebook.

Wrong.
Twitter and Facebook are as bad as the way it is being used.

I get more education and information about a large variety of topics on Twitter daily, than one can get anywhere else.

Don't paint everyone with the same brush. The tweens who use Twitter to talk to celebs and ask "should i go outside today or not?" are the same as the friends you have on Facebook who ask the same stupid questions on their status updates.
Best thing is, if you're not following your 'friends' then you won't see the nonsense. If you just want to send them a message once all you have to type is "@theirusername".

For me, i only have my close friends and family on Twitter. Which are very few people. I'm mainly following organizations, companies, developers, educational institutions etc.

The potential of Twitter is amazing, but it all depends on how you use it.

For example, i have my local transit company on Twitter, and it posts information whenever there is a delay or a shut down. I get that in real time, so i know that there is a delay in a certain station or it's closed for an emergency 45seconds after it was reported. Thus I can map out alternative routes, or the transit informs me about shuttle busses that i can use to bypass the place. All in a matter on minutes, instead of me going to the station to see that I'm going to be running late for work, thus saving me a lot of time.
That's just one of the many ways Twitter works. Again, its not for everyone, but it's certainly not justice to paint everyone who uses it with the same brush.

So yes, it can be used as an app that helps solve some scientific lines of inquiry.
