In terms of holding companies, it's no different from Meta or Alphabet. But in both cases, they didn't change the name of the actual product. Elmo is not a genius.
He may have plans that go past what Twitter is to what X will be. But the Twitter functionality is still there.

still waiting for its death. didn't die back in december 2022. didn't die when threads was launched. changing an icon suddenly kills the company? lol
So you missed the part where they have lost 50% of their revenue? No one said it would die overnight; slow, painful death is more fun to watch.

So, you used Twitter every single day this year and never experienced that embarrassing newbie level of glitchy trash that happened with the RATE LIMIT EXCEEDED and view limits?

You're doing tricks on it now!
if i'm able to use twitter every single day this year, it never "died for a few days" as you said.

keep up.

So you missed a burn there. Also, have you asked yourself why Twitter is rate-limiting its users ...
he's replying with the literal words " I can't reply to you ". LOL.

meanwhile blue checkmark users are posting memes that use up the non-checkmark's allocation for the day. 🤣

sorry, but you wish it was a burn so bad.

This is such a simple concept, every marketing department on the planet knows not to throw away a brand like that. And I'm sure X's marketing department knew too, and someone refused to listen. Which is the sign of poor leadership at any company - as a CEO, your job is at least 50% to listen, if not more.

Absolutely. It's baffling to me but certainly not the first time companies have done things like this. Another example is when overstock.com changed its name to o.co only to change it back after quickly realizing it was a dumb idea.

The thing is, Musk is moving ahead with the branding as if the anything app is already a fact but so far all that has happened for Twitter users has been negative — pay more, view less tweets, more toxic people, less technical reliability, no third-party apps. Folks have been voting with their feet.

Have you ever wondered, if it’s so easy to do with price cut, why has not other manufactures also doing the same thing? So easy! Here’s a hint, Ford currently has negative 40% of profit margin on EV. For every EV it sells at 50k, it is losing 20k. But it should be easy with price cut!

One reason Tesla margins have been higher than other automakers is because they not only operate as the manufacturer but also the dealer. They screw customers over at two levels.;) However, if Tesla continues to have to dramatically cut prices and offer discounts as they did this year, it won't be as rosy of a picture for them in the future at least as far as margins.

Tesla has been in a fortunate position of only having to produce and market EVs while most other automakers do both since the vast majority of car sales are still ICE. However, Tesla's "honeymoon period" will soon be over as more and more of the industry ramps up their EV production/sales and take more and more EV market share away from Tesla. In the U.S., for example, some analysts are predicting that Tesla's EV market share will drop below 20% by 2026 which would be significantly below where it is now.

Locally this has happened like 5 times.. established businesses that the owner ended up selling to retire and then the new owners changing the name, brand, and concept and then going out of business within a few months. It just happened again last month with a good Cajun steakhouse with live jazz bar; new owners changed name, closed the jazz bar, and changed menu concept, closed last month but blamed it on the landlord 🙄. The value is in the name, brand, and existing customers.. if you want to make something new start from scratch.

What was wrong with Twitter’s brand? It was fun, simple and everyone knew the icon. Tweets and Tweeting worked so well with it. When I see X, I don’t immediately think of a social network.

Yeah, I would take anything he said with a grain of salt. I am speculating here, but I will bet it has more to do with reducing his bill with Google.
And I would take anything with what you said with a grain of salt.

AI is extremely hot now. NVIDIA is backed up with orders and Twitter has tons of data. Reddit is also noticing their value of user data, hence API pricing.

Sorry but, given the macro conditions, it's obvious scraping is absolutely a critical part in rate limiting.

Also there's this. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-paying-google-cloud-patching-up-relationship

tbh

I think a lot of Elon fangirls are a little embarrassed their little weirdo loser billionaire is making terrible decisions that's causing regression, so instead of being like "yeah... that's actually pretty stupid. hm maybe this guy is an idiot", they just double-down and just try to pigeon chess debate you online about inane things that are completely false. (ie: this very thread lol)
These are not fan girls but people who recently rejoined twitter after Elon Musk promised to allow "absolute" freedom of speech. If you get what I'm trying to say.
