Not sure you are right... for example in Poland/Polish it was already localised sometimes to "tłit" (loosing all connotation with meaning, forming noun meaning "entry on twitter" or even vert "tłiting")... though, most of the people still write it "twitter" but verbs from it are already "twitować" and so forth.

With X, which doesn't exist in Polish alphabet nominatively, it would be somewhat odd as it's quite short and even en English it's difficult to figure out what the heck will you be ding... x-ing? sould somewhat like japanes Xi...
Tweet in English means something and is clever, while Polish phonetic copy doesn't and sounds like the worst corpo-talk but whatever. You'd have to give the "X" 15 years Twitter had to really compare the two and see. I just pointed out that there's "ex" in "text" and many other words that are easily associated with a messaging platform (eXplain, leXicon, eXtract). Not very original but there's potential.

Yeah that’s why Tesla just had record quarter delivering 446k vehicles. But let’s not let the facts get in the way.

Oh it’s so easy to build rockets that NASA and Blue Origin are having great success. So easy to blow up federal money.

General Motors Auto Sales

Q2 sales estimate: 675,417 vehicles, up 16.7% vs. Q2 2022.

Toyota Motor

Q2 sales estimate: 555,402 vehicles, up 4.6% vs. a year ago.

Ford

Q2 sales estimate: 523,717 vehicles, up 9% vs. a year ago.

It would be one thing if this was simply about a parent company called "X" which would own Twitter and any other future platforms/products/services Musk creates but to change the Twitter service to X makes no sense. They are unnecessarily sacrificing a lot of brand equity by giving up the Twitter name.

A lot of automakers have been seeing strong numbers this year. However, a major reason behind Tesla's sales increase was the significant price reductions and additional discounts they put in place this year. That and the fact that many Teslas also qualify for $7,500 in federal tax credits again.

This is probably the nail in the coffin for me. When Elon bought Twitter, I thought about deleting my account, but now I’m seriously considering it. I’ll see what this “re-brand” brings, but I already rarely open the Twitter app anymore. Maybe time to check Threads out.

And what’s Tesla’s YoY growth number? Lol.

But they are not advertising as frequently. In fact, Apple cut ad spending on website formally known as Twitter, from what I hear from industrial chatter. (Despite what Elon said) Most of the ads I get are some random c#^@ and scammy stuff that doesn’t make any sense. Before Musk, I got ads from major companies, with Apple being frequent.

Lack of strong content moderation. Apple already rejected Parler for same reason once. Also, Phil Schiller has strong disdain for Musk and that might be enough for Apple to reject the app. Apple makes the rules, Apple can do whatever they want. It’s their right to exercise first amendment with app rejection.
I’m seeing promoted tweets from Apple now just as much if not more than I ever did prior to Musk taking over. Apple is not going to be rejecting Twitter/X.

From wiki:

X Corp. is an American technology companyestablished by business magnate Elon Musk in 2023 as the successor to Twitter, Inc. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of X Holdings Corp., which is itself owned by Musk. The company owns the X (formerly Twitter) social networking service and has announced plans to use it as a base for other offerings.

Twitter.com is still active.

All he did is replace the bird and link twitter to x.com. X Holdings Corp seems to be a name change but don’t hold me to that.

So X Holdings Corp is now the parent company.

I remember the time when so many on this forum asked for Timothy Cook to be sacked and for Elon Musk to be the one to replace him. Just goes to show how most of us have no clue how to run a company. Tim Cook might be bland and unexciting, but at least he isn't completely bonkers.
I remember the time when so many on this forum said Twitter was going to die last year.

In terms of holding companies, it's no different from Meta or Alphabet. But in both cases, they didn't change the name of the actual product. Elmo is not a genius.

You realize Twitter has been wildly successful since Musk took over, despite what the internet echo chamber has suggested, right?

Just like the “Netflix is going to go out of business” hysteria when they cracked down on password sharing, when in reality their subscriber counts skyrocketed.
Internet traffic has grown but advertising revenue has went massively down. While else would he let so many workers go.
