Try to talk about the subject, instead of about me and guessing what I might or might not be impressed by.

Here's what you responded to and argued against - in case you forgot:

You claimed that:
  1. Tesla already had a car - except he didn't claim Musk started the company; nevermind the company had 0 cars sold.
  2. The roadsters were better car - except they barely sold any, and were not profitable with it
  3. "He ripped out high quality parts"
  4. "They didn't have impressive build quality"
I said that under Musk's ownership:
5. They sold a **** load of cars...
6. that turned the company massively profitable (highest margins in industry)
7. Whatever subjective opinion people have on the quality, is dwarfed by proven sales values

So exactly which and how do your points dispute his success in running a car company?
I'm supposed to be impressed that a wealthy guy was able to pivot into an unscrupulous car salesman? Really setting the bar high there lol. My idea of a great man is not a wealthy crook who dumps on regular Joes for profit by any means necessary. The quality of a man's character is not separable from his work, and you can't pin a lemon media property on customers like you can a car.

No, there’s a bunch of no name people with one also. This is why it is good he is doing this. Too many people think like you and assume verified means important.
And why would a “no name” person need a verified account??

the whole point of blue tick is to confirm it’s the person claimed to be and avoid fake accounts pretending to be someone else.
This means celebrities.
I don’t see why a nobody NEEDS that.

It doesn't just mean celebrities. It just means notable. You've been in the news for some reason. Or you're a representative of a notable organization. Or you have credibility within an industry.

lol now THAT is an ultimatum.

I am wondering if Steve ever pulled this off… giving them ultimatum and fire engineers for not meeting it.

Twitter engineers have been too lazy to make any changes, and now they are in for a rude awakening!

Engineers provide work estimates, they implement and test. Sometimes they suggest things that could be done.

Decisions on what new features or changes to do and assigning resources (budget+engineers) to projects doing the work is all Product Management and Management in general.

Don't blame the engineers, they can only do the work if assigned to it.

I have zero interest in whether youre impressed by him or not.

You disputed a claim that he took a company from near zero to success. I challenged you to substantiate that claim.

All youve done is hem and haw and shifted the goal posts from here to there.

Your emotion wasnt on trial, but it sure was on display.

freedom of speech is about unconstrained restriction on the right to express it, not about monetary cost.

anybody can still post without a blue verification check. did you think you need to pay for that priviledge?
Plus free speech and censorship have to do with government. You still have to deal with the consequences from people and businesses within the law.

It is how a good boss operates. They aren't your friend, some will try and be fake like they are but they aren't. I'd prefer someone who is real and upfront, than the fake and stab you in the back type.

I smell a fallacy. A good boss should neither be a backstabbing pretend friend nor an ass.

A good boss will get work estimates from engineering, time and effort, and base a real timeline on that. Instead of setting a deadline hes pulled out of his backside and threaten doom and destruction. He can apply pressure to the estimated timeline but will often have to accept an increase in risk.

He should be respected, not be a incarnation of Cthulhu.

lol here we are in an Apple iPhone every year buying crowd moaning about $20 for an OPTIONAL blue tick
It is all about who is charging for it. Elon is the one charging so there is anger. He could charge a buck and there'd be an uproar. I am convinced he could offer to pay 5 bucks to every user who signs up and there would still be an uproar.

Twitter doesn’t pay itself. After spending $44 million on a bad deal, is now up to the user to pay for his mistake. Next year he will sell it for a massive loss. Twitter needs to RIP next to MySpace.

It will be a very costly mistake, amounting to a ton of debt. It's bad enough he plundered his personal stake in TESLA to enable his Twitter adventure (leaves a bad impression on TESLA investors).

It's even worse that several of the world's largest banks had pledged themselves as lenders (financiers) to enable Musk to overpay for Twitter. If Twitter does not become successfully profitable.... Musk will be in a LOT of debt. And so will those stupid banks.

I'm glad I don't bank at those large moronic banks (like Bank of America etc), where they recklessly throw their millions on risky ventures like this.

Musk's lenders prepare to hold $12.7 bln Twitter debt on books until 2023

Banks stand to lose at least $500m if they fund Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover

My point being if the person is “notable”,important and/or making money using the platform then surely then can pay 20 bucks for it.
And regular ordinary users don’t have to.

Yep. Notable people also have gazillions of followers. Which amounts to publicity, which often amounts to sponsors, book deals, paid speaking engagements, lucrative job offers, paid advertisements, etc. On Instagram alone there are tons of so-called "Influencers" that you and I have never heard of. But what matters is that they are "Notable" people who have tons of followers. And those Influencers make a ton of money -- from sponsors, from advertisers, from collaborations, from cultist fans that buy their tacky merch, etc.

As a now former long-time Twitter user, I never bothered to look to see who was verified. I’m just a regular nobody who mainly used Twitter to get up-to-date news, and the occasional laugh. I’m not sure how anyone, other than those looking to drive a narrative, would pay $20 / month for a check-mark.
If you are a famous author or even a corporation, you worry about someone spoofing your account. If you have the blue check, you don't need to worry about someone using your name to talk about marmot porn.
