Two popular trainers on Apple Fitness+ have unexpectedly announced their departure from the service, which will celebrate its second anniversary since launching this December.

Dustin Brown, who was previously a yoga trainer on Fitness+, announced his departure from the service in an Instagram post earlier today. "After being in the U.S. for over two years, I had the opportunity to travel back to Australia and spend time in my studios and in the community here," Brown wrote. "I am following and listening to my heart, and I have decided to move back to Melbourne! This means my time at Apple Fitness+ is coming to an end." Brown had been part of the service since its launch.

Brown wasn't the only one to announce a departure from Fitness+ today. Also in an Instagram post, Betina Gozo, who was a core and strength trainer on the service, said that after two years being part of the team she is leaving. "I'm sad to share that my time on the Fitness+ trainer team is coming to an end. I'm so grateful to have been part of this incredible team in LA," Gozo wrote. "The devotion, character, knowledge, and hard work of every single one of you is impeccable," she added.

Apple Fitness+ initially launched on December 14, 2020, and has since added new workout types and programs and expanded to new countries earlier this year. While Apple plans to hold a hardware-focused event this Wednesday, updates to services, including Fitness+, have been routinely talked about during Apple's fall events.

(Thanks, Ben)

I just wished Apple would buy Peloton. I prefer Peloton's instructors, but am debating on buying an official bike because of various reasons (though I have tried one and love it).
I’m on the other side of the fence. I find Peloton instructors corny - for a lack of a better word. Love the iFit (Norditrack) instructors who just keep it real.

Really didn’t expect this on the ‘eve’ of an Apple Event, but giving it more thought… knowing Apple they’re about to add improvements & expansions to Fitness+, so they may have ‘packaged’ the departure of these two trainers, planning the timing of their announcements so it’s a small - possibly overlooked by many - blip that will get lost amongst the imminent onslaught of new Apple news.

Dustin was fab, and I’ll really miss his calm assuredness and friendly face.

Betina totally brought the energy to her workouts, I really enjoyed their vibe.

The thought of favourite trainers leaving Fitness+ did cross my mind a few months ago. Unfortunately it’s now a reality - but I’m hopeful that as Apple employed fantastic people like these from the start, they should be likely to employ new fantastic replacements too! 🤞

Close your rings, stay active, people!

Omg what a coincidence! Why would they leave a service that is at the top of their game? Anyone know how many are active subscribers? 2000 to 3000 is my guess.
In 2021, Apple had more than 745 MILLION paid subscriptions across all of services. Source: https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-...s-big-numbers-on-its-expansion-into-services/

Say just 2% of that number subscribes to and actively uses Apple Fitness. That's almost 15 million Apple Fitness subscribers. Over 7x what Peloton has, if my guess is correct.

That would be amazing!!! I was so excited for Apple Fitness+ but the delays in going live led us to get a Peloton bike+. Now that we pay monthly for a Peloton membership I can’t justify paying for Apple Fitness+ too… but if Apple would buy Peloton…
