Not a fan of all the trainers, I have to admit. This may sound stupid but for me it was just too….American. Guess I’m not into laughing, bad jokes and a good mood while working out as a grumpy German 😅

I love Fitness+. Without this service, lockdowns in the pandemic would have been much less fun. I'm basically addicted to it now, try to do at least one workout every day, even if it's 10 minutes.
Same here; I hope Bakari, Josh and Scott will stay for a bit longer and Emily is coming back...

H.

No, don't go painting with such a superior, holier than thou brush there.

I exercise, and am surprised.
My own exercise — Yoga in the studios with other people, Cycling on the road and hiking in the hills.

I am — and will continue to be — surprised that people will exercise all by themselves in a room with just a TV or a computer following along with an over-hyped, over-energized stranger… 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am even more surprised that some people on here seem to develop profoundly deep affections for these trainers.

But, that's just me.

Yes! Agree.
Like an Apple Event on steroids…
I do yoga, I do cycling, I do running, I do swimming, and I do Fitness+. Doing one doesn't prevent me from doing others. In bad weather it's tough to go out and do roadbiking or running. Similarly Fitness+ saves you from going to the gym, which is time consuming. Instead of going to another closed space filled with sweating people, do the training in your home in much better conditions. And doing strength training with really good trainers is much better than doing random stuff in the gym. You get more done in less time.

I hope dapple had the courage to release Fitness+ to more non native English speaking countries such as the Netherlands. Add subtitles and voila everything is ready. Most (almost all) people here understand English good enough

So I guess that $19bn in services last quarter was mostly what AppleCare?

A large part of it is the 30% cut they take from devs from the App Store and then there is the fee they take from Google for default search.

The fee Google pay was most recently estimated at $15 billion so that is large chunk there

I am surprised to read that many negative comments and notions about that service. I believe it to be a fantastic product, making guided fitness workouts available for the wider masses.
Probably from a lot of Americans and it’s not a secret as to how the demographic is when it comes to obesity in the country.
As to me I love their workouts. I use their cardio ones especially a lot more during winter months since I can’t run outside. Or their indoor cycling at home as well.

OK just subbed to Fitness+ for the first time and by coincidence first workout was Justin - 10 mins. Can honestly say that was really very good and I just hope I can keep up the momentum to do this everyday. If I do that 10 mins it will radically change my fitness I'm sure.

The main negative was the smallness of the iPhone screen. Difficult to watch and do the exercise at the same time - was placing the phone on the floor, then a chair, then back on the floor. Had headphones tho and familiar exercises so coped. Costwise the all-in-one plan is not available here, which is pretty annoying as I'm barely using Music currently, but it's still worth 30c a day just for Fitness if it gets me fit. I may dump Music when renewal comes up next month if I can use Fitness music for walking.

I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with the yoga so just adapted to what I was able to do. For a complete beginner that might seem daunting or even off-putting but's not really a negative for me. Justin himself seemed great, most of these guys do though. Love the optimistic calm energetic vibe.

As for those saying just go to a gym, lol. 1) No WAY because of Covid 2) nothing resembling a class like that is available here. Here, there are personal trainers and maybe the odd yoga class once or twice a week, if not already full or cancelled, for 30 - 150 $ an hour.

Update few hours later: okaaay, have to admit I got triggered by the Wokier than thou Time to Walk, plus it cut out half way because watch not connected, plus it took quite a while to set up. Shame because walking is my number one fitness mode and the whole point of the watch is that you don't have to lug your phone around. Still have a month free trial, but the yoga better be darn good if I'm going to keep this after that. Plus I didn't appreciate the upsell attempt to Apple Music (therefore doubling the price) in the very first episode. That cheapens it, no wonder Apple are hiring more ad execs.

What a pity that Finess+ is still not available in many countries. Who cares about people using English at work :D
End of sarcasm

Oh noes whatamagonnado.

I don’t know how to do push ups and jumping jacks unless this guy yells at me…

Dustin and Jessica are awesome yoga teachers and I've watched and been taught in person by a great many. Glad to see that Jessica is staying for now.. I hope there wasn't an issue over compensation or their contracts.

Don't know what the drama is regarding Fitness+, it's far, far cheaper than going to an actual Yoga class. And both methods have their advantages and disadvantages.

Why is there so many negative and ignorant comments?

If it wasn’t for Fitness+ I wouldn’t be in to fitness. One thing I like about this service compared to other things I’ve tried (not tried peloton) is the personality of the trainers. They make me want to exercise.
Shame we are losing these two, but thankfully all their content will be staying.
Thank you for sharing you personal experience.

The negativity comes from the same people who always criticize anything Apple has done since the days when all Apple did was create Macs.

I’m glad you’re enjoying Apple Fitness+. I’m enjoying it as well. It has helped keep me motivated with fitness; I don’t like going to gyms, people are rude in my experience, even when you are respectful of gym norms.

Thank you all for the support! Apple isn’t perfect, but we have to stand up for good things when it’s warranted. This service is great, and anyone who insults its users as “not serious” or “fat people” should not be taken seriously. Let’s all continue on this fitness journey together!

There’s a lot to unpack with your comment. Aside from the problematic criticism of an entire country (and you clearly don’t know there are various sub-cultures within America), I don’t understand why you would portray Germans as unhappy, wretched people; I have German family and certainly not all Germans are like that. It’s become way to easy to make overarching criticisms of whole groups of people, even if it is for a cheap joke.

I just wished Apple would buy Peloton. I prefer Peloton's instructors, but am debating on buying an official bike because of various reasons (though I have tried one and love it).
As a Peloton customer - do it. Fitness+ is fine but Peloton's content and instructors are unquestionably superior.

Yeah this is a service mostly for older people imo. Can’t see zoomers using this.
I would imagine that the demographic split for all of these fitness/work subscription services lean heavy towards the 40+ demo. Gen Z are still relatively young and likely lean towards spending their money on a physical gym membership where they can get actual social contact with others.

Older people (Milennials, GenX, Boomers) are in their "family, homebody" phase of life and place a higher value on being able to get a workout in at home. Incidentally, the demographics with the largest share of discretionary spending are the older ones, so Apple, being a for-profit company will tailor their offerings to the people with the most money. Eventually, GenZ and GenAlpha will have the money and the kids and the responsibilities and will become the demographic that Marketing departments covet.

I'd be interested in knowing what the demo breakdown is for Peleton, Fitness+, etc. I wonder if my notion lines up with reality on this one.

Seems I am one of the "16" people who are using Fitness+ 5-6 times a week!
I love it for Pilates, Core, Strength, HIIT, Cooldown and sometimes Yoga.

It helped me a lot beeing active again after the Corona times.

No idea why some people are so negative. It isn't clearly for everyone. As going to the gym is not for everyone. So good to have all this possibilities.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Dustin was my absolute favorite and the only male yoga instructor, not that it really matters (but men’s and women’s yoga can be different) 😨😰😩😞😔
Dustin and Jessica are my preferred yoga instructors on the platform, for sure. I’ve had good practices with Jonelle and Molly — and all of them can lead a good flow — but I like Dustin’s wide use of hip circles (all the creaks and cracks!) and Jessica’s friendly “style it out / see how you go”

I agree with you, Fitness+ is a great service and helped me stay active.
