How long before websites start blocking access to anyone who doesn’t accept tracking? Every website I visit now requires me to accept their cookies before proceeding. It’s a pain.

Oh poor trillion-dollar companies...
People got to this point because of the excessive tracking and apple developed this feature to provide something people want.
If the advertising world would have restrained itself a little with the tracking, perhaps we wouldn't be as obsessed with privacy these days

There are a lot of people who get their phone, activate, set up contacts, and never change any of the settings. And sadly, there are a lot of people who don't care if they are electronically abused.
Mostly old people that aren't even aware of the tracking itself and its dangers, in my experience.
I think privacy concernes are mostly found in millennials (such as myself).
Old people don't seem to really care and teens these days are so embedded into the app system (tiktok, twitter, clubhouse, facebook, instagram and so on) they have no chance of privacy at all.

I installed the Skype app last night only to find i couldn’t sign in unless I opted to let them track me. No thanks 😆
They are not allowed to do this as per Apple's rules. Probably a glitch.

The only app I have installed that has a tracking option is Kijiji.

Considering how we were abused as consumers with information being tracked and targeted ads creepily following us, it is no surprise.

If IDFA is dead, a new way to track users will start to rise. This is what I believe.
Also, people are having so much faith in apple not tracking their own customers and not selling data? No audit from third party means everything has to Be taken with a grain of salt in my book.
Ad company apparently still could not figure out an alternative method to maintain user tracking even after the grace period. Interesting.
Do keep in mind though, ad supports “free of charge” contents. I certainly don’t want to browse the internet where only google, government website, Wikipedia and a handful of niche sites are “free of charge” to access. Putting everything behind a paywall is just as terrible as browsing a news site with some ads, if not worse.

There is a double edge sword - now instead of getting ad tracking following you will now bee subjected to more ads that don't apply to your interests - I hate ads for things that I don't use so now advertisers will be flooding your web pages with stuff you don't want, need or will ever use.

I don’t really use many apps. Less than 10 all together.
But the biggest trackers I use are Google, Gmail and Youtube. And I really don’t intend on not using those anymore.

Exactly. That’s why I’m just going to continue letting Google track me.

100000000% opting out! This is one of the main reasons that I stay within the Apple ecosystem.

Yes, but only when you are on the network that uses Pihole as its DNS proxy (unless you always have a VPN back to that network). I do use Pihole at home, but that doesn't help when I'm out.
I have wireguard set up and I’m always connected to it. The wireguard is installed on the same VM as pi.hole. With my 500/500 broadband I’m using full tunnel but you can simply use split tunnel. Pi.hole is with me everywhere I go.

it’s good what apple does but pi.hole is better - my set up blocks ads, tracking and even those stupid cookies popups 👍🏼

I am not against advertising/tracking at all - nothing is free. But first kind of harrassing and bombing us and then crying like a little child, if we finally do have the opportunity to fight that...

Just do it in a decent, acceptable way and I will gladly accept it. Otherwise: bye...
I am just a stupid consumer guy, but not as stupid, as you think, dear publishers.
