With only four days until Apple's "notebook" media event, the rumor mill continues to ramp up.

9to5mac claims that the laptop pictured on Apple's event invitation does not represent the new MacBook. Instead, they believe that the new MacBook will retain an outer plastic design while incorporating an aluminum inner frame. They describe the final product as "two tone" and expect the new MacBook to come in black at a minimum.

Meanwhile, we're confused by the antics of taiwanese site Apple.pro. The site has been the source of multiple case images claiming to be the MacBook Pro and MacBook. The MacBook Pro casing was also "confirmed" to be real by AppleInsider.

The site has now posted a video of what is claimed to be the new MacBook but looks identical to the current MacBook Air with the exception of the name ("MacBook") stamped on the bezel. In fact, the video doesn't even match up with photos they published two days ago which show a similar case, but with the power button in a different location. The video is being mirrored on YouTube video (via Adflow). Due to all these discrepancies, it's hard to accept that this video is legitimate.

All should be revealed on Tuesday, October 14th when Apple will be launching their new laptops at special media event.

i agree that video is iffy to say the least mind you they dont show the thickness much do they so it could have the same basic form factor

Were the Ti PowerBook's not two-tone?

What would the purpose of the aluminum frame and plastic outer shell be? Weight savings?

go to ifixit buy a macbook bezel take off the macbook air bezel install macbool bezel

Now you have Macbook that looks like an Air

Calling sheninigans on that video, like the article said it looks like a Macbook Air without the word air written on.

that video screams MBA why else would they cover the keyboard?? this isnt even front page worthy, it is that bad! If I had a new macbook before anyone else did I would be posting that **** up everywhere...no one has ****!:D:apple::apple::apple::apple:

My question about the video is why there is a sheet of paper over the keyboard?

Fake!

Obvious fake. Especially since they kept the keyboard are covered and did not zoom back on the computer or turn it around or close cover. JMO. :p

The duo theme (two materials, two colours) doesn't sound too thrilling to me. I'd rather like it to be aluminium (with plastic keys for the keyboard, of course), period. But then again, who knows how beautiful Apple has made them?!

For now, I voted negative...
