Two-Tone MacBooks and a Questionable MacBook Video

well well well. I don't know, I hope it's fake cause it's ugly. On the other hand, it would take away from the urge to want to buy a new MBP. I am more interested in tech specs though.

Since they were right on the other spy shots, I'm willing to bet that when we see the notebook refresh on Tuesday, the new MacBook Airs will not say MacBook Air on the bezel, but will instead just say MacBook.
I personally don't believe this, however, what if Apple decided to be really aggressive and get rid of the standard MacBook, and just replace it with the MacBook Air. That is the point that his video could be making. We all know that Apple thinks optical media is a thing of the past (they are right), and rumoured updates to the speed of the MacBook Air could mean that it will be at least as fast as the current MacBooks. But storage and price are still big problems with this theory.

Black Macbook with an aluminum top case? Hey, I just did a mockup a few weeks ago.

PS: Now I actually really want a Macbook upgrade kid, just the display bezel and macbook top case in aluminum and you pop your old trackpad and key caps in it. It would look almost exacly like the mockup.

I was kind of surprised to hear that everyone thinks they are getting rid of the colored plastic casing. Perhaps a white or black plastic shell with an aluminum backing is a reasonable alternative.
Why the aluminum frame? Well, it would prevent the palmrest cracking issue wouldn't it?
Well, at least we only need to wait until next Tuesday to find out what the deal is.

Wouldn't it be funny though, if the video was legitimate, and the keyboard was covered for a reason, maybe hiding something really cool, and the TWO-Toned bezel was real... that it IS a mix of Aluminum and plastic??
Plus, this VIDEO TEASE came out just days before the release of the NEW MBs and MBPs and MBAs... not revealing too much, leaving people (us) wanting more. Making it look like it was shot by a real amateur, (intentionally, I'm sure).
And on Tuesday, when Steve shows the world the ALL-NEW MacBook line-up, we all go "Ooooh, Ahhhh !!", and realize that the video was real, and what most people posting to this thread thought was UGLY and a fake turns out to be what the new MacBook really looks like??? And then we all think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I've read so many posts on what people think the MBPs will be like, I don't know what to think any more.
After all, isn't that what MacRumors is all about? It's fun to wonder, think, suppose and guess at what the next great thing is from Apple...

First, you usually don't see the back of the iMac (or the front, if you're in the back, there are few transitions from front to back anyway), while you open and close your laptop all the time so you do get this transitionLook at the current iMac.

Maybe Apple has several designs and is trial-ballooning them before the announcement. The ugliest versions, "voted" as such by people like us on MacRumors and other sites just by discussing them, will not be shown to the press.

BTW, I don't remember exactly who makes Macs (physically, I know Apple designs them
), but I think I read somewhere than Pros and Airs were made by a different manufacturer than MacBooks, and that they'll all be made by the former from now on. If that's true, it'd explain why that Taiwanese site lost their source (and now apparently resorts to mock-up videos...).
I doubt they will use an joint plastic and aluminium macbook. Apple makes too much out of using aluminium because it is recyclable to go and use plastic with it.
