0.82 to 1.64 feet just sounds less tidy than 25 to 50 cm. Now, if somebody can explain to me when to use feet and when yards? To me 5 yards is easier to visualise than 15 feet (I imagine a 'yardstick' and then put five of them in a line).

Simple. Never. Feet and yards sucks. Metric wins.

Be nice, and AR sounds cool in principle, but in practice it’s still a bit gimmicky. I have not found a killer AR app yet.

Does anybody here use AR on a regular basis?

Measurement apps. Ikea product app! Quite a lot of people seemed to like Pokemon and that aHarry Potter game :)

The true killer apps won’t arrive till proper glasses arrives. Bit like Uber couldn’t exist pre smartphones.

AR Glasses could replace computer monitors and TV sceeen - You could have multiple virtual monitors But it need to have a proper field of vision - not just 50 degrees but 110+

Mapping and location stuff will be key.

he Ikea thing is cool but I don't buy new furniture often so I haven't used it yet except just once to try it out.
The virtual measuring tape apps are cool but I haven't actually used one for anything other than just trying it out either. Maybe the laser ranging will make it finally rival the accuracy of a physical measuring tape which is always my go to over the virtual variety.

Apple is definitely betting that this will be big I just don't see it yet.
