Another person leaving Orange. I can't fault their service, but I hate dealing with their off-shore call centre. I definitely won't miss that when I leave. I've used O2 in the past when I was in Glasgow and had no problems with them. Does anyone know if O2's call centre is still in Glasgow, or if they've off-shored it as well?

yes they have a call centre in the skypark building in Glasgow!

Orange tried quite hard to change my mind. The chap on the phone was going on about how it's the first rev of the phone and that it's expensive etc.. i asked him twice to not bother trying to stop me as it wasn't going to happen, yet he still tried.

that to me is rude and more reason to leave them.

anyhoo, i have my PAC code and am now trying to decide where to go for the launch.

Just requested my PAC code from Vodafone.
The guy I spoke to asked me why I was leaving and when I said the iPhone he tried to convince me to stay.

He said are you aware that it is a £269 charge for the phone plus your contract and are you really willing to pay that? I told him that I was and he then told me that Vodafone were in the running for the iPhone but that they pulled out for several reasons.
The reasons he gave were that Apple wanted too high a share of the contract price and that the battery on the phone was not user changeable. He suggested that I could get an N95 for a free upgrade instead.

I told him that I do still want the iPhone, that I have wanted one since the announcement in January and that I cannot be swayed. The guy relented and said that my PAC code will be in the post.

I first requested mine over two weeks ago, and it still hasn't come yet, it has never taken this long before, do you think they are getting inundated with requests :p

Just received a letter from T-Mobile confirming my PAC Code. They did give it to me over the phone last week but it's good to have it in writing!

2 days to go!

I just called Orange as my PAC code, which I requested last week, still hasn't arrived. They said they'd had 'problems' with the PAC system (hmmm...) so they guy said they'd text it to me instead. Well I've got it now and I'm all set for Friday...

Rang up T-Mobile today, and within 10 minutes I had my PAC code - great service.
Cost me £39 to terminate my contract, as I had 2 months to go.

Exactly what happened to me. Except the excuse they gave me was that no PAC request had been made.

After a horrible discussion with someone in India who cannot form sentences, they transferred me to someone who can speak English.

It was an uphill struggle but once I spoke to the right person my PAC was sent via text within 10 minutes.

Orange has sorely disappointed me.

I have two separate numbers on my Orange account, one for me and one for the missus. The same PAC code is listed beside each number even though I only want to transfer mine and leave hers as it is with Orange. Anyone know if using the PAC code renders the contract finished for both numbers or only one?

Orange failed to post me my PAC code as I suspected ...so I just called them and the guy at disconnections gave it to me. all done.

sorry to hear that Frozentoast, but I am not surprised.
Nice work by the way ... (your site)

mmm. just checked my PAC letter and both our codes are the same as well. Both me & the missus are upping and leaving though...the interesting bit will be that your contract was presumably under your name, so it will probably stay under your name for the missus' phone.

I paid £60 each to get out of ours...no worries. Orange has been on the slide since the french took over, and their data charges were ridiculous. I had no trouble getting the codes from them.

My mate has today paid £400 to Voda to buy himself out...OUCH!
