Hey, y'all.

I'm locked out of my UPS account, so I can't see the updates from there. For the people that are getting updates from MyChoice: does the Apple Store say that your phone has shipped, or does it just stay on preparing to ship?

I'm getting nervous that it's Tuesday, the phone is in China, and it's supposed to be here before the end of day Friday, and it's still preparing.
 
If it is any consolation, AT&T has been horrible since the outage.
They keep calling me (I don’t pick up) offering me Uverse and cell service even though they have NO SERVICE out here. The first time they called I got excited that I could get off dinosaur DSL and get Uverse but no, sorry, we have no service in your area. THEN STOP CALLING ME! It’s mind-numbing.

The Apple Store status won't change to Shipped until your phone has cleared customs in Louisville/SDF/UPS Worldport.

Preparing to ship over at Apple because the phones have not cleared customs yet in Louisville. Perhaps someone can correct me but I think they’re waiting till all the phones scheduled for 9/20 delivery arrive in Louisville and will scan them at the same time.
 
It's fun watching people freak out looking for shipping info. lol. I used to be that way but after so many years, I know what to expect. If it says 9/20, you'll have it 9/20. Sometimes it'll update while it's in China, then show Alaska. Other times, mine updates Friday morning saying it left Louisville and is out for delivery with nothing before that.

I had to call spectrum last week to cancel my grandmothers internet. She’s entered hospice and is living out her last days. So I call, and 45 minutes later someone answers. I tell them I need to cancel the account for this address and she asks me why. Was completely upfront with her and my exact words were “my grandmother entered hospice today and will not be returning home.”

Here’s the punch line

The representative then proceeded to try to keep the account open by offering additional discounts on additional services. I wasn’t too happy with it, and asked her, and I’ll leave the profanity out, if she was really trying to sell services to a dying elderly lady.

It will be Thursday. I’ve never seen Apple mark a prordered phone as shipped before the day before delivery.

That's Spectrum for you. They want to keep latched to you regardless.

Yes and I challenge that rip-off every year, usually successfully. Any Joe can walk in off the street new to Verizon and get a bunch of stuff for free but we loyal customers get charged a $35 activation fee for no real work on their part. And I’m already p’d because when we moved here we had 3 bars all around our home. Now we have 1 bar, I have to drive about 5 miles just to send a text message or make a call, and they raised our rates. Out here in this rural end of the earth there’s no other viable option so I’m stuck with them unless some other carrier appears.

Oh my Gosh it’s things like that, having to drive away from your home to make calls/texts, that just remind me I could never live in a rural area, I’m not built for that life!

Also, I’ve never been able to get AT&T to take the activation charge off when it comes to phone upgrades, they say they can’t (which really means they don’t want to) and honestly I don’t really want to argue with them about it so I just pay it cause calling or chatting with AT&T is a pretty aggravating experience. I gotta image it’s probably generally the same across carriers…

I’m still only getting from my choice the below. Nothing has ever changed since I got them. Perplexing to me since I bought a two minutes after the opening bell.

I'm not changing my phone color anymore hahaha, it looks better in person than the online pictures
MyChoice has had all that info for years. And I am signed in to MyChoice.
I have had Disney sent me packages with a completely made up address to Kansas and I'm Texas, and as long as my name and email are the account I will still get the package from the UPS, the only way for it to not show up is if a name mismatch or contact info like email doesn't show up.

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother that’s really a tough situation (hospice) but I hope she can be comfortable and surrounded with love.
