For those of you on the iPhone Upgrade Program, do you recall when the trade in box usually comes and what that process looks like? I leave the country for two weeks the day after I am supposed to get my 16PM and I know we only have like two weeks to ship it back. Wondering if I’m going to have to pay a coworker to handle that for me.
I'm not in the upgrade program, but I do get the new phone from Apple each year and trade-in my old one. They do just say you have 2 weeks to send the old one back, but maybe if you call Apple and explain your situation, they will say that you can ship it back as soon as you get back home. The trade-in kits come FedEx, so if you set up your new phone Friday and get everything transferred off the old one, you could have it boxed up and just have a co-worker drop it off for you at a FedEx or in a drop off location.

I’ve got tracking now for my iPhone 16 Pro!!

That’s the plan at the moment. Is asking my boss or one of my coworkers to give me a hand. There’s a FedEx store a few minutes away. I’ll charge and wipe my phone before I leave the office on Friday and then when the trade in kit arrives they just have to throw in the box and drop it off. I’ll be buying someone lunch when I get back.

Guys, I'll appreciate your help with this.

I entered the incorrect city (Hollywood) but the proper zip code (Pembroke Pines) in the shipping address. I contacted Apple Support (chat) to request a correction. They claimed I needed to wait until the order was shipped before editing the information, as the option is unavailable to them too.

Is it the right approach? Or Can I do something else, such as make contact by phone?

I'm worried! Thank you.

As usual, I’m in 2nd wave with tracking update this morning. 6:01am MDT ProMax 256gb desert … Alaska scan tonight or tomorrow, then Louisville Import Wednesday! LESGO

My phone last year and year before went zhengzou>alaska>kentucky

Edit: looking back you may be right lol, I could of swore it was a straight through flight though
Yeah, in looking back at a screenshot I took of the start of my tracking last year, there will be another Departed ZhengZhou, actually two days later and then an arrival scan in Incheon, KR about 3 hours after that. This all seems to be following the same travel days as past years. So I'm anticipating, for Wave 2, the next scan we see will be a departing scan from ZhengZhou dated 9/17 in the early morning around 4:30 AM and then arriving in Incheon around 7:30 AM the same day. That's as far as screenshot showed. Everything should move much faster after that. :)

I heard from last years thread for the iPhone 15 that if you call ups customer service and provide them the reference number they will give you the full tracking number. Has anybody had luck trying that? My choice for me is out of the question.
I was able to do that a couple years ago. I called UPS and talked with International Customer Service and they actually gave me the full tracking number after giving them some of the information I had, so you might be able to still do that, but definitely ask to talk to International Customer Service since the package originates from outside the United States.

I was thinking I got my trade-in kit before I got my new phone, but I can't remember exactly.

I'm thinking UPS is going by the zip code anyway, but you could try calling UPS (ask for International customer service) and explain that to them. It might not even be an issue is everything is based on the zip code.

you can go on UPS and change it for a small fee i believe i've done it before ( couple years ago ) look at UPS.com and should be able to change the address with a small fee

Pretty much all day yesterday the UPS app was showing the “this is a new tracking number…” message but woke up today with the actual tracking # and showing movement in the app for my phone!

Finally got an actual tracking number! I hadn’t gotten my choice to work with my new address properly for the last two years, so I haven’t been able to actually have tracking since the iPhone 13. Definitely excited to actually have tracking this year!!!

For the Apple stores in my area (suburban Seattle) this is how it's looking as of this morning.

16 Pro Max: completely sold out, all colors and capacities
16 Pro: mostly sold out, with the 1TB the lone exception
16 Plus: all widely available
16: Teal 256 sold out, everything else widely available

So if people are considering lining up on launch day, would they have the forethought to check the Apple website first? Is the website accurate? Could somebody still get lucky?

I ask because some websites for major retailers aren't at all accurate on store inventory, items that say sold out are in stock and vice versa.

People get lucky a lot with Apple, call it a tactic, but I’m sure as you get closer to launch day the iPhones will be restocked for pickup out of nowhere. If not, you can either wait 1 week after launch to schedule a pickup, or you just place an order right now. Anyway people seem to get “lucky” with their deliveries too, iPhones estimated to arrive in October, show up at your front door on launch day, so you never really know.
