Important: Also, to turn it off you have to turn on Airplane Mode, it will play even if your phone is in DND or goverment alerts are off.

We had one of these tests in the UK not so long ago (April 2023).

It was good to see the system tested, especially as some people didn't get the alert or got it late – means problems are identified and have the chance to be fixed.

No ensuing weirdness to report!

One small detail was that the ⚠️ icon on the Watch notification was very pixellated – presumably because the graphic is hardcoded into the functionality (for efficiency perhaps) instead of drawing on a standard scaleable asset?

That's actually funny. Google is spreading misinformation that "SMS needs to die", but it never will. These emergency alerts are sent out as SMS, not RCS. RCS requires data, just like iMessage. SMS is not going anywhere.
