And I don't mean to get everyone up in arms. I may just a have the one-in-a-million "bum" unit. It happens. Doesn't mean everyone else here should be worried about the same problem.:)

Apple mass produce the iPhone so it always has issues. Uneven screens, light leaks, gaps, dead pixels. Please Apple just charge us more and stop mass producing in a sweatshop!

Not to sound like a dick, but I hope so lol. Sorry. Maybe they assembled your phone on a Friday at 4:59 PM. :)

It could be a side effect of imperfectly bonding all the glass pieces together, leading to some extra pressure on the LCD at that point. Just like pressing a finger on a display.

Fifteen years ago, a capacitive touchscreen manufacturer that we used in our designs avoided bonding the touchscreen to LCDs for similar reasons.

I just unboxed my iPhone 4 and I'm having the same problem. There are yellow tinted orbs along the bottom of the screen. I scheduled an appointment with the genius bar this afternoon let's see what they have to say.

ugh this is not good. is it really obvious or do you have to really search for it on an all white screen?

They will say come back as we don't have any iPhone 4 to replace it with.

One wonders if this is related to the white iPhone 'manufacturing issues' at all.

Either way, I'm sure we'll be able to get replacements.

It's only obvious on a white or light gray screen. So far I see it the most when I'm in the Settings App. It's quite obvious there. I wonder how long before they'll have replacements?

Is this one of those cases where no one would notice it but now that someone has everyone will? lol

No its highly noticeable.....mine is dead smack over the bottom right button for tabbed windows in the browser and over the search button in the iphone spotlight keyboard

Anyway you can take pics of yours? As the OP's was kind of hard to see.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I wonder how I can activate it in store tomorrow so I can make sure the screen is fine before I accept it.

This has been a problem with multiple units that Apple makes, from the iMac to the iPhones of the past and even affects the iPads. Apple will likely exchange it for you, and if the first genius does not, take it again and get someone else to help you. This is of course if it really bothers you a lot. Otherwise, I would just let it go. The replacement is likely to be the same or worse.
