Just received my 16-inch 64GB Ram 8GB SSD MBP Max two days earlier than expected. I was at work at the time so couldn’t sign for it. Thankfully DHL delivered it to my neighbor without issue.

Received my 14" Pro from JL the other day, and then read about the dreaded SD Card slot issues.

Tested mine now and it seems to have the issue :(

Not sure whether to wait and see if it's software related, or to return to JL for an exchange?

14" and 16" M1 Pro SD Card Slot Problems

Anybody else having issues with the SD card reader on the new MBP? I have several SD cards that the MBP does not recognize but when using Apple's USB-C SD Card reader with the same cards the MBP recognizes them no problem. Any ideas?

thanks for the link.. makes interesting reading!

I'm not likely to be using the SD card slot much if at all but will still test out. a combination of apple care and apples customer service would mean if I do have an issue with it, I'll just wait until stock levels improve before looking for a fix

So lucky I checked in on this thread. Ordered my Max 32/1TB off John Lewis which will be delivered this Friday instead of the 29-6th order I had with Apple. Thanks Chris :D

Mine has missed the scheduled transfer from Stanford le hope. So likely not getting it tomorrow as intended, hopefully not a long delay and I’ll get it for Friday. Ragin’ 😀

enjoy! that is a beast of a machine! if you don't mind asking, what's your workflow requiring such a beast?!
 
Mine just left Shanghai! Hoping for delivery on Friday (UPS), despite being scheduled for Monday
 
My Harber sleeve should be arriving tomorrow, but today when at the Apple Store checking if they had any polishing cloths in stock saw Apple has their own leather sleeve for MacBook 16! I think it was £179, so considerably more expensive, but wondering if anyone has any experience with those? Do the new 16 even fit properly?

I do video editing and some light photo work. I’d admit the machine is probably overkill for my needs but I intend to keep this beast for a while yet.

The delivery depot is Reading, and DHL East Midlands to DHL Reading is an approx. 2.5 hour drive. It might have just missed the cut off for delivery today.

I have the 13” equivalent and yea they are eye-wateringly expensive! As you’d expect it’s well made, great quality of leather (embossed apple logo on the back) and it’s a very tight fit. On the rear it had little bumps for the feet of the old
MacBooks which lined up perfectly when on. I have the saddle brown colour which looks great.

Biggest issue, apart from the price, is that you can’t get to the usbc ports when in the case. So no way to charge when in.

They are a tight fit so I’d be surprised if the current 16” sleeve fits the new MacBooks perfectly plus the bumps for the feet would be different too.

OK well I'm not UK (Japan) but just seen large charges drop from iPhone alerts for my 14" Macbook Pro + Apple Care. Wonder if it will be dispatched from China or Apple's logistics warehouse...

Could be both tbh, should expect a PFS soon if charged.

Annoyingly as I used apple vouchers I have no idea when I’m ‘charged’!

I used a voucher for 150,000 (£1,000) but that was to keep it within the limits of my card.

I'm going to be a 1 man denial of service attack now on Apple's order status site now waiting for a PFS XD.

If it's being dispatched locally it gets to me withi a day but who knows how long from China - I mean the flight is only 1 - 2 hours at most so it shouldn't be a long transit if coming from China.

Just had a text from DHL to say they've received the package - although no 'Shipped' update from Apple yet.

Now the long wait/radio silence until it reaches the UK! ;)

07:18 Local time | Arrived at DHL Delivery Facility READING - UK

As of 08:55 no further updates.

I wonder if it will make it onto today's delivery schedule...

Nothing more disheartening than seeing the words ‘Delivery Delayed’ on your tracking details, especially when you’ve been waiting anxiously for an order.
