Review embargo supposedly lifting now! Excited to see some real world performance.
It's probably not now. If it had lifted, Youtube would already be flooded with them as the creators upload it in advance and then schedule it to go live at the time. The leakers (Prosser aka tosser) got it wrong.

So my BTO:
- M1 Max, 32 core GPU, 64GB ram, 2TB, 16"
-11th-18th November

It's still showing for me as 'processing', but the person who orders them for us at work says it's showing for her as 'Sent to Manufacturing' ?

A colleague ordered one the same spec but 14" the following day. His is still just 'Processing Order' on her system.

Interesting that business portal logins seem to get more info. I've got a 'guest' link that lets me see the order status in the same way as the screenshots everyone is posting here.

Anyone seen a review for a 16gb RAM unit? They didn't ship lower than 32gb to The Verge... not sure if I should be worried by that as a 16gb orderer!

What are you going to be doing with it? I develop pretty graphically intense iPad apps and it's only when debugging with a bunch of extra tools open, Slack and so on that I start hitting the limit under 16GB.

Apple Silicon machines definitely get by with less RAM for the same tasks vs. Intel

iJustine Review is live. Went up at 2pm.

In her words "Mac is Back"

I have one question and I know not really the thread but I bet others in here are interested. Do we think the 67w charger is the minimum that will charge the 14", I have a RavPower 65w charger and wonder if this will still work. Then I can keep MagSafe in my office and RavPower in the lounge.....!!!

I'm also a software dev, potentially with docker instances and other VMs (albeit pretty rarely)... But my theory was I'll upgrade in 3 years when Apple Care runs out anyway, and disk should be fast enough that if Docker does lead to some swap, it's probably okay...

Judge arched iJustine video…. I know….

However they’re editing 8K footage on the base model 14” I don’t understand that scene too much however they were very, very impressed….

These things are beasts.

May just go for the 1TB 14” 10 core now and not worry about the 16gb ram

Some updates from Shanghai too. Need to see if any ups planes have left there recently!

My BTO 16 inch M1 Max just shipped - going via UPS and is currently in Shanghai.

Previous delivery estimate was 4-8 Nov, now saying Friday 29 Oct!

The reviews make me laugh. The people that get them in advance are YouTubers, who need powerful machines to make videos showing off new laptops on YouTube in ever-increasing fancy resolution.

Would love to see some reviewers talking about other performance, like number crunching tasks, data analysis, software development, etc.
