Personally I find companies like this too much hassle. It’s rather like booking a long haul flight ticket to Australia at a competitive price only to find that you have an 11 hour wait in Kuala Lumpur to change planes.

I’d rather pay more and know exactly where I stand. I have a firm rule too: Never buy from a company that doesn’t publish a telephone number.
This is a great rule and one I stick to. A physical address (as opposed to a registered office or PO Box) is always a positive sign too.

Over the past few years I’ve stopped taking the cheapest option and going for customer service instead. Car insurance, home insurance, mortgage, all of that kind of thing… Go for whoever comes top of independent customer service surveys. They’re often only a few quid more expensive anyway.

Judge arched iJustine video…. I know….

However they’re editing 8K footage on the base model 14” I don’t understand that scene too much however they were very, very impressed….

These things are beasts.

May just go for the 1TB 14” 10 core now and not worry about the 16gb ram
I'm having similar thoughts about whether the 32gb is worth the extra money (and time to be delivered) especially when Costco has a 14" 10 core 1 tb for £2229

Order shipped, originally 8 - 11 Nov now due 1st Nov!

Shame I'm going to have to refuse delivery so I can order one with larger storage ?

Had an Apple email now confirming that my BTO (8th-11th) has been shipped, but delivery dates haven't changed.

Surely can't take that long?

I'm quietly confident that most of us who have had them shipped from China now will receive them faster than the current estimate. My initial estimate pre-shipped status was 29th-2nd. When it shipped it moved to "delivers on 29th" and about 2 hours later it said "check back tomorrow for updated delivery day" so I reckon it will arrive 27th or 28th. Fingers crossed anyway.

Mine has just shipped from Shanghai. Hopefully I’ll get it by the end of the week rather then 4-8th November like it estimated.

The reviews make me laugh. The people that get them in advance are YouTubers, who need powerful machines to make videos showing off new laptops on YouTube in ever-increasing fancy resolution.

Would love to see some reviewers talking about other performance, like number crunching tasks, data analysis, software development, etc.

Which is why I’m hoping anandtech do a proper deep dive on them.

Came across ‘max tech’ on you tube. He’s pretty detailed but a bit of a fanboy
