Update for any Londoners:

Just called Westfield and Regent Street.

Both told me the same thing - they have ALL MBP's in stock, but don't have the high-res on display.

I asked when they'll get the high-res in and they said they had no idea. They were both kind of rude to be honest.

What should I do? I might get the high-res 15" but want to see it before ordering :/ Advice pwease?

Do you mean they don't have the high res on the shop floor, or they don't have the high res in the back room?

Bought 13 inch yesterday with a 320GB hard drive upgrade and they've given me an estimated delivery date of 28-29 April  Is this pretty accurate or could I expect to receive it much earlier? Might cancel it and go buy one in store but not sure they'll be stocking hard drive upgrade versions.

Estimated Delivery: 22 Apr, 2010 - 23 Apr, 2010

That's for my standard 13 inch.

Just got back from the Regent Street Store. They are mental busy with people buying up MacBook Pros. They have standard builds for all models, but nothing more. No anti glare, no high res versions.

I'm happy though, bought myself the mid-range 15" MBP.

From what I understood, they don't have the high-res in the back room either. I'd rather invest in the high-res but obviously can't atm.

You thinking of getting high-res too?

No high-res in stock?

Manchester Arndale Apple Store has the new macbook pros in stock, but running low on inventory already.

Just got back from Leicester.

I'm officially the 1st person at the Leicester branch to get one of the new 13" builds :D

They actually don't have any of the new ones out on the shop floor since I think they only just received them last night/this morning.

I didn't ask about any of the others one though since I was adament on getting my 13" one.

Moel, you best give them a call. They do have them in stock but as to which ones they are, I'm actually not sure.

ARGH Dilemma too

and yes was intending to do 2.66 with hi-res

Although i'll be honest i'm still debating...it's an extra £80 and it will be plugged in to a desktop monitor here at work for editing.....hmmm

GAH what to do!

My main issue is that I need to pay for it on my card, but 'buy it' for a person in education.

Bring that person you need to buy it for in education?

They did check my student ID and went through the procedures.

Yeah but thats my point chicken!

I can do that in store, but by the looks of things the stores haven't got hi-res versions

So i'd have to order online, which means I wouldn't be able to easily get the edu discount.

Hold on...they checked you student etc etc....

that means you've just bought one doesn't it?

Same, but the low-end 15".

Well if you're NEVER going to be doing any editing on the MBP directly, and instead on an external monitor, then I wouldn't get the high-res. Sort of pointless.

For me though, I'll be working solely on it so would benefit with high-res.

It'll probably be around £65 with student discount btw. And yeah, i'm buying it with my card too but just getting my sister (who's at uni) to come and pretend she owns the credit card and order it :)

Do what i'm doing - just waiting for the store to get some high-res ones in. Have a look at it in store. If it's not worth it, just get the normal one. So basically, wait! I'd say probably by the weekend they should get them in..?

Zinx, yeah once i leave my jb at the end of the year i will be editing solely on it...so yeah.

To get high res models you will have to order on line, no apple retail store will have them in stock. They are a CTO, BTO machines, you can order them for business though the stores, but are still awaiting build time.

I sold my old 17" in my signature and am using the 13". I can not wait to see what the High Res screen will look like on the 15" it would be my preferred size. However if it is naff, then I will simply order a 17"2.53.

I am a screen real estate pig, I also hate being plugged into a monitor.. Most of my work is done on my bed or lounger, recliner in the garden.

So NO Apple Store will ever have one in stock? And once you receive yours, post pictures and let us know how the screen is!

Is everyone remembering to pick-up the £70 rebate deal on a printer?
There is a printer that costs £69.99. Whango bango, free printer!

Hope not.

I'm hoping they'll stock the Core i7 15" MBP in high-res antiglare!

I really don't want to order online.

So I phoned up the Liverpool ONE store yesterday and they told me they will be getting them in today. I went down and to my surprise they told me they don't have any in and ain't sure when they are getting them in. So I come home, phone up the store again and then they tell me they have them in!

They're such a mess, Im going back down about 7pm later to see if I can pick one up, I made the guy check 2 times that they were the new Arrandale MBP's and he said yes.

Hope they're in or they will have an angry customer

Pretty much nope, obviously your resellers like cancom, jigsaw24 will get CTO, as normal. Apple sells enough machines stock spec, so anything different you can do online. Sometimes they will do HDD at a real push.

I can not wait for mine to turn up next week, keep going on line and looking at status. I will post pics when I get mine in.
