Well there wasn’t one this year, so maybe next year there will actually be a new iPhone 😉
The 14 Pro over the 13 Pro has a new chip, increased screen brightness, always on display, dynamic island, 48 mega-pixel camera, adaptive true tone flash, action mode, autofocus on front-facing camera, bluetooth bump, satellite connection, longer battery life, new colors, and all at the same price. Wondering what you were expecting?

basically there is no news today so you post this to get some clicks. whatever

the only thing i want is usb-c and a 3nm a17 for slight performance improvement but mostly battery life improvement

Apart from satellite connection and same price all the rest is true of the UK version. Our prices increased by at least £150 per model.

Hope springs eternal? All I keep hearing about is the UK stinging from BREXIT and the horrible weather. Article this morning says 'UK isolated from rest of world'. They have had their share of problems, like we all have. Pandemic, etc...

1 store. So what has really happened here is that the store managed screwed up and allowed too many holidays at the 14 launch, someone checked Christmas and he/she has done the same. So they are being told a year in advance it is not happening again.

If anyone is surprised by this, especially in retail, you are in the wrong business. I am still weighing if I will actually upgrade from my X to 15 Pro Max next year.

If Apple still continues to support the X under iOS 17, I might actually hold for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The new chip is at the best a rebranding of the A15, there is a negligible change in technology or transistor size (it’s not even a new process, despite how apple markets it). The 48 MPixel camera has been in the competition for years (despite apple fans saying it was pointless… until now), and yet it’s only on the main sensor and not the others. Old tech. The ‘ island’ is just a neat trick to hide they eyesore that is the pill shaped notch. Absolutely overhyped. Bluetooth bump is also old tech, and the satellite thing is useless for 99% people, not available anywhere yet and even when it will be available in the states it’s not going to be available anywhere else. New colours… don’t make me laugh 😂. It is the least exciting launch since the first iPhone, with the exception perhaps of XS. The price has been kept the same only in the states, it’s increased pretty much everywhere else. what did I want? Something actually new. A new cpu actually new, camera that at least goes on par with what’s been available in the competition for years. The notch gone and not replaced with a software trick. Under display finger sensor. Mm wave 5G in the non-US market. Something that gives ‘wow’ effect, which we haven’t seen in years…

I went to the Apple Store to pick up a phone case the other day and I was surprised just how LOUD it was in there. Everyone talking, and there was a Procreate tutorial being run and the instructor had to shout, and it was just all really unpleasant. The promotional photos of Apple Stores and the ads make it seem like a really calm place, like a normal supermarket and big box store. But it's not like that at all. I almost wanted to try the transparency mode on my new AirPods to quiet it down.
It's all the hard surfaces reflecting the noise. People speak louder in order to be heard and you get into a spiral of speaking LOUDER and LOUDER. They need some soft wall art / a few bean bags / acoustic tiles.

Apple is not doing this so early because they anticipate more iPhone 15 Pro sales because of the addition of USB-C and the A17 (periscope camera will probably be exclusive to the 15 Ultra). They’re releasing something else that they expect to be on many Christmas wish lists. That would be Apple’s first VR headset.

You would be surprised how many people still don’t know that. It always comes as a shock to them when I tell them to wait another week before upgrading around September when talking to friends

Same here. And it is often the same people every year or two.

I’m anticipating the iPhone 16 Ultra on September 20, 2024. It will unfold into an iPad Mini and start at $1999 for 256GB.
