UK Apple Watch Series 8/Ultra Pre-Orders and Dispatch Thread

I ordered mine from EE.. their website had a glitch, so I didn't have to pay an upfront fee... and I get a free £80 gift card
Looks at EE’s site I can’t tell if they have stock for the 23rd?
I want the black hiking strap, so I ordered that separately from Apple, but if my Milanese strap works fine, it could be ok?
S8 SS Graphite with Milanese strap due on the 16th for me.
Looked at the Ultra but it just doesn’t do it for me, display size is all but identical and it’s rather big so going the smart stylish route instead.

Bit undecided. Been looking to update my S4 SS. Discounted the S8 so it’s either a S7 SS or…..the Ultra. The Ultra offers something “different” ? whilst the S7 and S4 - on the wrist, much difference ?

Keep the S5 and just get a battery replacement, after all the S5 is perfectly fine apart from the battery.
Or do I trade the S5 in for a S8. For about £80 less than the S8 though I can get an Apple refurbished S7 and as a bloke the new temp sensor has no use to me.
Or do I bite the bullet and get the ultra I like the look of but have no use for any of the features?

I ordered mine with EE. She told me the 23rd, as I was ordering but by the time, we had finished she said it said it was on back order. So I’ve no clue. Not had an email or text confirming the order, so currently in the dark as can’t even track it on their website.
I've gone for the Ultra. But I'm keeping my S5 for those odd occasions where I might want a slimmer watch. Didn't really see the point of saving £80 by trading it in when I can still get some use from it.
Ultra with Alpine here. Ordered it with a Trail loop but cancelled and swapped to Alpine for faster delivery. Trail loop ordered separately for Nov delivery.
Put in an order with Apple for the Ultra w/Midnight Ocean Band. Delivery 11-18 Oct, only really a “backstop” as I’ll try with John Lewis on the 23rd (?) / 22nd (?) not sure.
Hey all, I ordered the Apple Watch Ultra with Green Alpine Loop from Apple with delivery due on the 23rd.
I run marathons, half marathons, 10k and 5k races. I also do some hiking and swimming, but nothing extreme. These activities can easily be tracked with a regular Apple Watch, but I’m excited for the Ultra and trying out all its new features.

So are Amazon likely to deliver on the 23rd ? Do they take payment straight off or on despatch ?
Just checked bank, no money has been taken out yet.
And I have no clue if they will deliver on the 23rd, but it's in and see what happens.
I’ve got a similar delivery estimate with the trail loop. This is truly going to test my patience… 😳
I’ve also ordered an ultra via Amazon. Really hoping it arrives on the 23rd. I’ve gone for the medium alpine band, I normally wear the S/M watch on the 4th from tightest setting that measures 180cm. I’m guessing that Amazon know their stock amounts as now the Ultra with Orange Alpine band in large is no longer available to order - pretty sure it was yesterday.
I’m 5th tightest on that band - glad there’s somebody else ordering the Ultra who doesn’t have ginormous wrists. 🙂
