anyone think that new macbooks will be released in the promo period?

i thought they would stop the promo thing for free old ipod nanos to get rid of old stock before the new ones came out...yet now theyre giving away free new ipods so its a possiblity no?

Thanks Andy. How come a few people are on about the possibility of new MacBooks? Are there meant to be new MacBooks coming or something? I thought the MBP line was only updated a few months ago?

yeah i dont see why the macbooks would see an update, (which is leopard) without a re design...considering that its the only white product left...if it would stay the same and just be updated with leopard and then later on with a new design...that ALOT of updates dont u think??

Looks as if this overlaps the Leopard launch.
EDIT: Wait, it leaves one day in October.

Possibly and you may be right, I suppose it would fall in line with all the other updates Apple have done with the iMac and iPods. And don't get me wrong, updates would be great! I mean hopefully I'll be getting my MBP with Leopard already installed and with these updates it would be awesome!

oh well i missed out on a fat nano, i bought my macbook for a athorised retailer on saterday no loss.

Ah this is excellent, desperately want leopard included though - I wonder if the setting of Oct 30th is exactly because they wanted to exclude the leopard upgrade?

could apple really be that cheeky and release leopard on the last day of october (31st ) - the day after the promotion....they said october but i don't know.....

....i'm hoping for stuff to be revealed at this paris expo coming up...maybe even some surprises, i'm trying to remain optimistic!!!

i don't think they'd start changing their products style, starting with the shuffle, then imac, ipod etc without completing the rest for christmas time when the macbook is like the most popular product they have, especially for students

Doesnt the offer say free iPOD nano?

If thats the case why do you only get an £85 rebate when the cheapest nano is £99??

Or did I miss read it?

If you read the FAQ we can always just order online on the 30th October and get both Leopard (assuming it comes out at all during October) and the ipod deal...

Hi, I called Apple and had it confirmed that:

the offer applies for the nano (4BG & 8GB) iPod classic, and iPod touch. You will recieve an £85 rebate on any of these.

can I use my HE discount ASWELL as get a iPod Rebate? How much would I get off an iPod touch?

I'm now wondering that as the back to school page only directs you to the education store not the HE education. Which it didn't do yesterday.

EDIT: Right got it wrong if you go through http://www.apple.com/uk/backtoschool/ you get to then choose which education store to go into.
But if you go to the normal store http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore and click on the image to the right it leads you to this page which differs slightly http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObj...0341B&node=home/campaigns/back_to_school_2007 and only lets you go into the standard education store not the HE one.

I bought a MacBook less than a month ago and I could have had a free iPod Nano!!!!

Is there anything I can do?! So gutted!

has anyone tried calling customer service yet to see if they can get the rebate even if they have only just received their newproducts?

SCORE.

also; you can't take advantage of these offers in store, can you?

The price is before VAT, so you don’t actually get a free iPod because you still have to pay the VAT

It looks like Apple have dropped the discount on iPods for students, so unless you buy one with the rebate offer then i don’t think the Educational discount will get you any money off an iPod, you still get discount on other products and Mac compurters though

this is way cool.. can I get cash off an iPod Touch?

Yes you can, £85 to be exact!! It totally ROCKS!!!!

I'm not sure about in store but you can phone the order in and get the offer plus full HE Discount (12%) which is awesome for anyone who wants to order while there still at home before going back to Uni!

hello all..
i placed the order for my iMac on the 7th september.. was gutted when i saw the back to school program appear yesterday. However, after a brief call this morning to apple, and i gotta say-spoke to a legendary salesperson, he was on the ball! I still qualified for the £85 rebate! woohoo.. so for anyone who ordered anything in the last 14 days before the program started-there is some hope. Also, i dont have to bother sending in the rebate kaffafle which involves peeling off stickers here and there, i just get the £85 credit straight to my account.. One of the bonuses of ordering before the program starts..
oh and btw.. the deal is for all iPods excluding the shuffle.. i didnt opt for the nano ;)

Wow I'm going to go from having no Apple stuff to having a MBP, iPod classic, accessories, software and games lol, this is good

I placed my macbook order on the 16th August so doesn't look like I'll get it. Planning on getting an iMac anyway soon.

Did they actually say within 14 days?
