Sounds like it should share the same bullet as my sickly old dell laptop. I know the feeling, it gets even worse once its been shipped some how. You know it's been made and is on its way but the waiting is unbearable. Once it's shipped you'll get an email from apple with a reference number starting 82....
Stick that into http://www.expeditors.com/ and you can track it all the way to the uk from Shanghai with flight number etc. I'm in limbo now that they've delivered it to the courier, I don't have a new tracking number yet and I don't know if its with UPS or TNT. I'd bet you'll be back on here in two weeks looking at macrumors through 27" eyes ;)

I have the same config but ordered on 30.11.2012, its Still showing 04.01.2013 - Prepairung for Shipment - the same as you, but imagine my surprise when 10 minutes ago I got a call from my wife to say my iMac had been delivered ! no status update, no tracking , no despatch confirmation or anything . it just turned up.

They have some serious issues with the delivery tracking going on.

Thank you, then I have to whait what`s happend in the Future

The UK leg of the journey appears odd.

I tracked mine from the factory in China on the 2nd to Heathrow on the 4th. Cleared Heathrow customs on the morning of the 7th.....then nothing....tracking ends.

Phoned Apple, apparently still in the depot there. No UK courier assigned yet.

Spot the bottleneck.

And now I've got my ups number :D due to deliver tomorrow, the only day this week no one is home to sign for it :/ I'm hoping I can pick it up myself on Wednesday if I call them up.

Atlast...

iMac arrived today at 5.00pm by UPS!!!!!!!!!:):):):)

Originally ordered on 3rd Dec 2012.

Left it to 'warm up' to room temp for a few hours and when fired up everything seems good - no dead pixels, no yelo screens etc.:):):):)

For all of you that are still waiting... the tracking system by UPS from China through to final delivery is rubbish - I think they only update when they feel like it.:(:(:(

When your iMac does arrive though...
IT'S WELL WORTH THE WAIT

First post from my new iMac - it's def worth the wait - looks amazing. It's my first iMac so taking a bit of getting used to!

My additional 16GB RAM from Crucial has also arrived so will fit that tomorrow.

27" i7, 16GB, 3TB Fusion, 680MX. iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPod Classic, iPod Nano 7th Gen.

Finally ! Today the TNT trackingno appeared, if all goes well the Imac will be delivered sometime tomorrow. Been in there since november 30 , almost thought it would never happen.
Now lets hope that everything is in mint condition

European customers are treated worse than americans by Apple. It's not just a matter of priorities. The support is also better and they tend to give you more without asking money. And that is quite sad considering we pay more with the €/$ currency exchange.

Sounds great! I received it today. Enjoy tomorrow! It's a gorgeous machine.

Finally I got mine yesterday. Thought it would be Saturday, because it was at TNT depot near my home on Friday, but they decided to let me wait just a little bit longer. ;)

But it was definiteley worth the wait!! First Mac ever and I'm so happy with it. :)
Easy startup configuration, only little problems with handling (cmd + c instead of strg + c and so on...;)).
And all is oh so quiet. Awesome! And so far no problems with dead pixels, noises, etc. But didn't test backlight bleeding, yet.

I'm just starting to get a little narked with Apple now...Quite a few BTO's ordered before mine have been delivered, I have a buyer for my current imac who won't wait forever, and I'm still stuck in processing...

Out for delivery...let´s hope TNT gets it right. Two days ahead of Apple´s guess (Jan 10th), one day ahead of TNT´s projection...

My iMac is finally en route. It got shipped last night From Pudong local time (Shanghai) and is in transit

Expected delivery by TNT is 14th ( In Antwerp, Belgium)
Is it normal that it takes a week ?

UPS Uk tracking info suddenly appeared very late last night....iMac was only 10 miles away at 23.20 yesterday....loaded onto the delivery vehicle at 05.34today ....so on its way (I hope).

I'll be honest and say the tracking info has so far been very good, allowing for a logical update lag and the blackhole of Heathrow, BUT I've had absolutely no notification of delivery today...If I hadn't been checking the UPS website at midnight I'd have left for work and missed it.

At least 48 business hours notice.....NOT.

So looks like about 6 days from Factory in China to small town on the Devon Coast, nearly half of which appears to have been spent observing the evaporation of the aqueous components from the decorative coatings at Heathrow.
