iMac on the way - ordered on the 8th to the UK with maxed out (inc SSD!) spec however with add the Crucial RAM as per normal...

Looks like it is sat in Shanghai though until the flight leaves for Heathrow tomorrow (1am UK time). Damn, this last bit will drag on!

that better

I do have to rely on the typing thingy as I am severely Dyslectic
but no offence taken because its my problem, it can sometimes take me 20 mins to type on line when its bad ,today its average

No offence intended! I use tapatalk for access to the forum and iOS predictive texting gets you into all sorts of holes! Enjoy your new machine

Mine is in transit

It left pudong on the 7th but the tracker hasn't updated since (TNT)

Is that normal?

I dont know wehter this is normal, but my TNT tracker shows the same:
"07 Jan 2013 21:38:29 Pudong International Airport Shipment In Transit. "

yes it make me realise just how far we have come, around about 1972 I designed and built a zilog Z80 based computer ( pre PC ) from desecrate chips
with a cannibalised portable tv for monitor , it did end up with a 5 inch floppy ,interface again my design, 4 kHz clock speed 1 k video mem and 4 k system mem ( max was 64 k ) no basic only manually entered machine code I evan had to write the OS

Hello North West!Good result. Hopefully mine gets here soon.

So yeah, I'll probably call Apple or TNT tomorrow. thanks ;-) :apple:

UPS lost my iMac. Trust me, you don't want to call TNT or UPS directly. They are incompetent, don't give a **** about you and can't give you detailed information about the package: that's because you are NOT their customer, Apple is THEIR customer.

Talk to Apple directly and they will call UPS / TNT and let you know what it happening. You will save a LOT of time.

We're on the same flight then.

Mine is 07 Jan 2013 21:42:17

Where are you from?
I'm in Antwerp, Belgium

Forgot about this thread. My iMac was delivered on 28th Dec. Despite Apple telling me on the 27th that it hadn't been manufactured yet and having had the Applecare UPSed to me a day or so earlier.

Seriously someone needs to have a word with the logistics dept.

It's all up and running now including Win7 bootcamp on the 3TB fusion drive. It goes from 'Bong' to desktop in around 2 secs. All in all very impressed now it's been delivered.

Although I acknowledge this will get trolled by non-regular contributors to this thread (but I don't care), I have emailed Tim Cook to alert him to the issue. I would suggest as many of you do the same and happy for you to top and tail what I sent...

"This short note is to invite you to look at the following thread on MacRumors, which I believe demonstrates growing enthusiasm for Mac computers, on this occasion the new 27” iMac. A great endorsement for your colleagues' efforts in designing what seems to be another fantastic machine. I am looking forward to receiving mine in due course as I placed an order on 12/4.

The enthusiasm found in abundance in this forum can be expected from old 'Mac heads' like myself but a quick browse of this thread will tell you a lot of new customers are choosing Mac for the first time.

Secondly this email is to also alert you to a growing unrest in the community due to the unpredictable nature of the logistics chain. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason why 27” iMacs are being delivered when they are.

In fact a lot of users have inputted their data in the following spreadsheet which I hope you will find useful.

Thank you for your time."

Tell Tim its piss poor. Never waited this long for anything. Apple over the last few years has gone to a high consumer business we are all just dollar signs now.

My first ever Mac has arrived today. Shipped 31 December to Germany.

Looking forward to getting rid of my PC.

I talked to Apple and TNT and it seems that my iMac has been delivered in Itally because there's an Apple warehouse there, and for some reason, instead of sending it to my home directly, they stopped there first to send it later. I'll get it next wednesday.

It will get read. You will likely get a response from a staffer. Some have received direct responses. Explained better here:

http://email.about.com/od/famousema...What-Is-Apple-CEO-Tim-Cooks-Email-Address.htm

Of course, there will almost certainly be a delay of several days to a week since you're not a US customer. ;)

If enough people email about the same issue he may read them or at least be notified. I think he did say that the 27" iMac would be in short supply in an interview a couple of months back. I'm a UK customer and ordered a 27" with custom specs, they do now say 3-4 weeks for dispatch. Just a waiting game now

This is actually ******** now fair enough i knew i would be waiting between 3-4 weeks for my imac but americans who have ordered on the 13th have received their orders, tomorrow is exactly 30days from when i placed my order how. i dont understand how they can even release a product if they cant keep up with the demand and im sure a billion doller company would have analyst working on this day and night :mad:
