Ordered a fully loaded (apart from keeping stock ram) on 21st Dec. This morning checked to see it had been marked as preparing to ship, then about an hour later got a text through from Apple saying it was shipped and will arrive by the 24th Jan.

Mine has left Cologne now, soon be in the UK! Plenty of time for it to clear customs and be ready for delivery on monday

Edit: Arrived at Castle Donington at 4:23. Kind of expected it to go to Heathrow though? Sure it will work its way down the country though.

Exactly the same for me! Bring on Monday!

I ordered my 27" iMac on the 24/12 and I'm still processing. I'm expecting it to changing to preparing in the next few days based on what I've seen on this forum. I've been addicted to this thread since I found it a few weeks ago!

They do seem to be shipping them out quicker now.

Why did you buy 16GB?

Good to hear Richard. btw I love your work as a fellow pro photographer. :D

I bought the iMac through my own limited company to make things cheaper for me personally and it was easier to add the RAM rather than buy it through another channel. Buying it through my own company is far cheaper than buying the computer personally.

At the top part of the My Orders screen, it has changed in the past couple of hours to:

"Preparing handover to final carrier" :D:D

Hopefully when the handover has taken place, I'll get a better idea as to where my order is and from there a more accurate delivery date.

I've got a bit of tidying up to do, on and around my desk, and also the old PC, monitor needs moved off of the desk, before the iMac arrives. I would like to do all this the day before delivery (if I have a definite delivery date once the handover has took place)

How are you able to get all the details shown about where you iMac has been?

I have none of this shown in the My Orders section on Apple's site.

my first post having been a long term lurker!

ordered 27" on the 28th Dec, shipped today, with estimated delivery by 24th, so im sure it will be on plane with at least one of you. Expeditors says he has his passport and is booked on a virgin plane bound for London Heathrow on monday. Hope the flight cancellations dont affect it, and that no one has tampered with his bags.

already got a magic mouse, and a 16GB upgrade waiting for it. Just need to decide on whether to migrate from 2008 MBP or start fresh and clean.

use the number starting 82XXXXXX from your Apple order , on the expeditors website.

Thanks very much for the help its much appreciated.

This is what I see on the Expeditors website:

Does the "21-Jan-2013 15:00:00 GMT Requested Delivery Date LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR) mean that my iMac will be delivered on Monday?

Its just it mentions about London, and I live around 300 miles away from London?

Probably not. My guess is it's still got to be passed to UPS.

----------

Is it possible to become addicted to waiting? I'm hoping the actual arrival won't cause withdrawal symptoms for the wait process!!

Just to squeeze every last agony out of me, my iMac has now arrived at UPS Exeter (7.30 Sat morning) so it's less than 12 miles away from me... but they won't let me go in and collect it! Gotta wait till Monday...

A word of warning to y'all - when I called UPS to try to arrange collection I discovered that someone had transposed the numbers of my building in the delivery address! I got that sorted but you may want to call UPS once you have their tracking number, just to make sure some dumbass hasn't keyed in the wrong address... who needs that after such a long wait?!

----------

My RAM hasn't arrived in time for installing into the machine on Monday... so a question... is there a problem with running the iMac with it installed 16Gb RAM and then adding the additional 16Gb a day or two later?

Some people seem to think you need to install the RAM before first power-uo. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me as you can upgrade the RAM anytime in the future but I wanted to check in case there is an issue here...

I just checked my Expeditors screen. The records stop at the point of handover to UPS. Your Apples Tracking button with the link to the status screen will get updated with a new delivery date and a UPS tracking code so you can go to the UPS site to pick up the tracking data for your delivery.

UPS should process things quite fast - i.e. they'll receive your iMac at their main depot and will then transport it to the depot closest to you for onward delivery. My guess is you're looking at 2-3 working days for the UPS side of things to complete. I predict Wednesday for you, my friend...

I'm in the same boat as you, mine went to shipping in the night. It seems mine is on the same flight as yours. I'm from Nottingham. I just hope this snow doesn't delay it any further.

im in Sheffield - fingers crossed for better weather. i have also ordered a time capsule with the 27" iMac -does anyone know how the merge in transit works?

For those with iMacs at Heathrow mine was there this time last week - it moved on the Sat/Sun to the warehouse in the midlands before shipping out on the Monday for Tuesday delivery. Not long now!

I'm just getting impatient! I wish I had ordered earlier

and is it my imagination or have Crucial just hiked up their RAM prices? as i wish I had ordered that earlier too!

what did you pay for yours?

When I spoke to an adviser at Crucial she kind of hinted I should buy now, I thought it was sales technique but maybe she was doing me a favour!

They've just hiked the price by £3 to £5....not sure exactly but I know they came in under £130 for 32Gb before...it's now £134 for the same

It looks like buying them in single sticks rather than kits is cheaper too. Cheeky sods

Might look elsewhere

A bit late joining this thread, my order as below - frustrating.

Image

oh, wow,thats some wait.
i would be more than frustrated

I spoke to Apple a short while ago and they told me I might be better off going to a store as they are getting different BTO specs in.

I wish Apple would prioritise their existing orders rather than send these to stores, but there you go.
I called my local store who confirmed that they had got some of my spec iMacs in but they had sold out now.

Thanks for help and clarification.

Wednesday 23 January is the estimated delivery day shown in My Orders on the Apple site. Just got a bit excited when I say "21-Jan-2013 15:00:00 GMT Requested Delivery Date and thought it would mean it would be here Monday

One last thing, what does this mean:

"19-Jan-2013 09:44:00 GMT Delivered to Consignee"

In the Remarks column is someones name, (Gill is the name shown).
