My delivery date has just changed to Dec 19th!!!!!!!!!
How is it possible?? It was shipped on Monday!!

Had mine up and running from my MBP's back up for 20 minutes now, awesome. Well impressed with the speakers. Display is gorgeous, but not as amazing as the retina MBP which has spoiled me for 6 months now. But I love it so far.

Mine's the same. Was 'Preparing for shipment' when I got up yesterday morning and is still the same.

How about now? Mine is still 'preparing for shipment', they're dragging that out a bit.

Mine arrived safely, just. The UPS guy called at the wrong house and by chance I glanced out the window. I managed to catch him up halfway down the road in bare feet. I've never run so fast

WOw, that must suck big time. I feel your pain. Sounds like a harddrive gone bad....I´ve experienced this before.
I don´t know what I´m gonna do if I experience this when I get my iMac, going to go nuts probably! Luckily I have no harddrive in it, so there´s no moving parts....so less chance for failure from shipment.


Yay! my delivery date was not moved to december 27th. THat´s 12 days sooner than the original delivery date. And now I can finally track it. Happiness!

People of *Team 19th*, how are you all finding your new machines? I'm pretty excited about getting home and powering it up!

Hopefully the others who weren't as fortunate to get theirs today will get them soon!

Update 2:
CarbonCopyCloned the SSD to a memory card in case I want to clean-install.

Done a few benchmarks to compare with my old 2008 iMac (which is booting off ext FW disc as internal drive packed up a while ago).

Geekbench 13037 or 3.3x faster
Handbrake rip from Blu-ray copied to drive: 4.5x faster
Heaven (1920x1200) 65.5fps or 7.6x faster
Blackmagic disc speed test:
Read 449MB/s 8.7x faster
Write 434MB/s 10.9x faster

New iMac plays 1080p seamlessly. Old iMac struggles.

Very impressed with the performance!

I agree with iMcLovin, it sounds like the hard disc has packed up. My old iMac drive started making clunking noises then died a few months ago. Hopefully Apple can sort a replacement ASAP.

Ordered my 27" iMac on The 16th Dec. My delivery is January. I had ordered on launch day but regretted the spec I went for and cancelled. I would rather wait a bit longer and get a higher spec imac.

My iMac just shipped. I ordered the 30th November.
It says delivery is on the 2nd of january. Is it normal that it takes 2 weeks?
