Cardiff UK. Order date: 14/12 BTO still processing, dispatch Still January, and still not surprised.. I'm about half done with re-organising my Aperture libraries and deleting stuff I have carted around for years...New broom and all that. The old one is now up fro sale, and will need SL installed before it goes....Bad time of year to sell, but I have no room for two

I have a similar dilemma (no room for two) and you are much more organised than I am, I really need to have a good sort out before transferring the data.

The down side is I ordered mine 30/11 and therefore have much less time than yourself

Hopefully now I have read your message it will give me the kick up the a@%s thats needed to get on with it - lol

Mine was scheduled for friday the 28th but has just been updated to the 3rd of January. Bit annoying. I was hoping to have it before new years.

Looking at the Christmas shutdown, I think they have lost 3 days during christmas, and mine has been held at Heathrow since Monday, although my delivery forcast has not been updated yet, being in Cornwall I fully expect to be 'adjusted' in the next two days

Hopefully there will be a speedy van heading southwest overnight tonight

It's been over 10 years..Carting stuff from Mac to Mac, some of it even comes from the Windows days.. I just decided that enough is enough..I'm not short on space, I have a Pegasus R4 and the newbie a 3TB fusion drive...It's just time to kick out the C***

My iMac was due to arrive today, UPS just arrived... carrying just my applecare protection manual. The driver said "Did you get the other package this morning?" I said no... he said, "oh it's not on my van, call UPS maybe it will come tomorrow."

I called UPS... the lady said, "It seems Apple only sent us that package, they obviously didn't get the other one out on time... you'll have to call them."

Apple have a useless automated telephone service. If you want to get through to a human just don't say anything to the automated message. I am currently on hold.
[EDIT: Apple say they are sorry, it should have been merged in transit but we accidentally sent out the applecare booklet before the computer was ready, they will 'try' to get it out today for delivery tomorrow. *I say tomorrow is Friday will it come on Saturday if you don't get it out today, what with the weekends and new years approaching? *They say "once we get it to UPS you will be able to track it in real time, sorry". The computer is still in Hinckley, I am in London. Apple are idiots.]

Still no updates in tracking here... Last one was dec. 22 at Pudong airport. Delivery date is today. Getting nervous...

Im afraid its not gonne happen today.. Think they will push delivery back untill januari

Delay with customs in Prag

I just received an eMail from a guy at Apple, stating that there seems to ba a delay in Prag. Mine was scheduled for 28th, but I don´t think that will be the case.

Don´t know if that´s relevant... My order needs to be merged, i´m in germany, and Prag seems to be a central point. However, as for now they´re not on track...

i think the better half of my imac has gone missing, my imac order has been slit into two packages.
one was picked up in Tamworth on monday and is in transit just now to glasgow package wight .20Kg
the other package is just saying shipping received wight 14Kg.
i'm i wright in thinking something has gone wrong at the syncreon depo?

any one else had the same experience?

it's due to arrive tomorrow so i should find out then

Mine says the same. Two packages but just 0.2 kg weight. I am sure its just the system. Delivery tomorrow

Thanks Mark70 hopefully it will all go well or have apple on speed dial

I believe the orders are merged in transit, so if you ordered an extra mouse, AC or TB Cable etc it may come from a different source.

Really poor from apple - spent 20 mins on hold and spoke to someone who was very poor. She confirmed the Imacs were in Hinckley still and havent even got to UPS yet. She couldnt explain the reason for the delay and said she would try to get order moved along but wouldnt make any assurances about when I would receive the Imac.

I was already annoyed to hear they were sending gifts to US customers to apologise for the delays. Not even sure if that is true. But after spending £2000, waiting a month and then being so royally dicked around I think they should be trying a bit harder to appease us.

You may have ordered a £150,000 build to order Aston Martin and you'd only get the same level of service. It's ready when it's ready, and people who deal with the customer service should know a bit more but sometimes they do not.

Drop a level to BMW and it's just the same.

Drop down to Apple and it's the same, but different.

I'm reading this thread and now I'm a bit nervous about my iMac. I have my UPS Tracking Number and on their site it says that this is multiple package (SuperDrive+iMac) and one of them is 14Kg, and the other one is 0,6Kg (they have different tracking numbers, but I can see each other from one place and status is the same on both of them). Delivery date is 28th and it has just departed from Nuremberg (on 7 a.m.). I hope I'll get both iMac and SuperDrive

I was very nice to the people at customer services, I know it isn't their fault. But the service is inadequate. Of course it doesn't really matter how much you spend, you should always get good customer service. However, if you spend more, and in the case of Apple, pay over the odds, you expect better service. That is why I continue to buy into Apple because the products are good and they have always given great service... if the service slips then I do not feel I am getting value for money. The service has always been part of the product. My last few trips to the genius bar have been less than smooth/helpful, getting through to a human at Apple was a slow and convoluted process, and sending out an Applecare Protection Plan booklet instead of a computer is a total cock up.

I think I should expect more. I think you should too.

Is today the last day of the delivery range Apple has specified on your order?

I've been waiting three weeks to get my order from 'processing items' to 'preparing for shipment'. Now it's been already in 'preparing for shipment' for three days and no update since.

What can I do about it? Nothing really. They specified a delivery from Jan 2nd to 7th and I think they can still meet this range easily. So there is nothing I could complain about and just have to wait. My credit card hasn't been charged yet either, so again no reason to complain.

I think my worst customer service experience was with Ikea. 3 times they delivered a broken bed. Bit annoying when you've bought your first place and want something to sleep on to have this happen.

The fourth time their delivery men shouted 'Police, open up'. So I did, saw they were Ikea chaps about to deliver me what was probably another broken bed, so I told them to '**** off'.

Hope you're imac turns up.

No. The original estimate ran 27th Dec - 4th Jan, and it will probably arrive by the 4th. However it has read 27th Dec for 10 days now, and still does... people have to plan around these things. They have charged my card. They did that a week ago. Only the applecare booklet has arrived.

Your current experience sounds pretty normal. Bad, but normal. You will get a proper delivery estimate soon. Hopefully all of your packages will arrive together and on time.

Understand your frustration but you also have to consider that there were now two days bank holidays here in the UK and most of Europe. It will turn up, I am sure.

I called TNT due to the holidays its been delayed. Delivery maybe tomorrow but most likely 2 januari. Nothing had been recieved in the netherlands yet by TNT

That's ok. That Ikea story is ridiculous, can't believe they did/said that. But not that surprising.. I've heard many horror stories about them! I hope you sorted it all out.

I'm not really annoyed it hasn't come today exactly, if they said it wasn't coming until next week that would be fine. It is just that I was told it was arriving today... in fact the delivery estimate still reads today. I arranged to be in, and all that arrived was the booklet. Of course it was frustrating. I hope it comes tomorrow, but they didn't sound too sure on the phone; they wouldn't make any commitments.

Once I have it I will no doubt forget all my current grievances with Apple. That doesn't mean they are right.

I had the "preparing for shipment" status for 5 days... Now it's shipped for 6 days but still haven't got any tracking number.

Do you remember what week day your went into 'preparing for shipment' and when it eventually shipped?

If you ordered something else other than the iMac, like AppleCare, you probably only get a tracking number, once your order has been merged.

Same here got the preparing for shipment on the 24th and since then nothing happened. We're on the 27th now and stille preparing. I'm getting the idea of Apple giving me a kind of "pacifier" cause of the long wait. I'm reading stories of people who get shipment notices within 12 hours of preparing for shipment.
Anybody any idea what's going on? Ordered on the 30 th of november , 27" BTO , 3 TB, 680MX 2 Gb. And payed in advance........
