Do you remember what week day your went into 'preparing for shipment' and when it eventually shipped?

If you ordered something else other than the iMac, like AppleCare, you probably only get a tracking number, once your order has been merged.

It went "preparing for shipment" monday the 17th of December in the morning.
It switched to "shipped" on friday the 22nd at night.

And yes, I ordered a TB cable & Applecare so it's going to be merged. Probably today. I got apple on the phone and they said my iMac was at Luxembourg's customs and that it would probably arrive at the "merging facility" (or whatever that's called) today. He also said that if it all went well and with the best of luck it should be shipped from there today or tomorrow morning.

Now i'm just hoping it will arrive before the estimated date (January 2nd) but with the holidays and all, I doubt it...

Ok thank you. There is hope then :) It's a bit my theory that they won't ship till Friday. I think they are waiting for a certain amount of orders and then bulk ship them to Europe from where they will then be distributed to the individual countries.

Did it change from Thur to Friday night or from Friday to Saturday night to 'shipped'?

Just a bit of an update for those having suffered with split orders.

I contacted apple again and spoke to someone who was very helpful. She said as far as Apple were aware UPS should not split any deliveries and the items should have arrived at UPS together and left together with 1 tracking number not 2. Ups are saying they dont have it so they have to start an investigation. UPS have 24 hours to provide information at which point a decision needs to be made which includes the possibility of shipping a priority replacement.

Not brilliant news but news all the same

It changed from friday to saturday.

I made a similar call but with a different response. I was told whilst they cannot understand splitting the shipment it will arrive tomorrow

I also queried why the Applecare started on the 18th in advance of the machine been supplied. No point in having warranty running until the machine is supplied but was told this is standard and there is nothing they can do. Not acceptable to me

Personally I don't believe what I was told as the UPS tracking has not been updated

I paid for this on the 18th December and will call again tonight to see the best way to cancel and get my money back ASAP

I've just had a chat with UPS:

Initial Question: Can you tell me the exact location of my package?
Jessica C.: Hi, this is Jessica C.. I'll be happy to assist you.
Cezary: Hi!
Cezary: So, can you tell me what is the exact location of my package (no. [NUMBER])?
Jessica C.: Just a moment while I review your tracking information.
Jessica C.: This package is currently in transit (moving) we do not have an specific location yet.
Jessica C.: Please keep monitoring the package online for updates.
Cezary: But it should be at my place tomorrow, right?
Jessica C.: Estimate delivery date we show as tomorrow 12/28/12 end of day, pending customs clearance.
Cezary: Ok, but will I be able to pick it up from my local depot tomorrow?
Jessica C.: We show as delivery address:
[ERASE]
Jessica C.: Unfortunately there are no options available to make changes to the delivery prior the first delivery attempt.
Cezary: One more question. This is a multiple package so will it come as a single package or two separate packages?
Jessica C.: We are showing 2 packages, each with it's own tracking number.
Cezary: But they will be delivered at the same time right?
Jessica C.: They are going as a shipment.
Cezary: Ok, now I understand. So I should expect it tomorrow. Thank you very much for your help!
You have disconnected.

So it is a single shipment and it'll probably come as a single pack. Hope it'll be delivered tomorrow...

EDIT: I've ordered SuperDrive with it and it was merged in Praha.

Ok - i think my story sounds more plausible given the info on the UPS tracking no stating a label has been prepared and they are awaiting the product. My order status from Apple also says i should contact the courier for an estimated date for the remaining items.

TNT can suck my ********

TNT - ****ing idiots.

Waited all day home for delivery..

Now when i look at the status update i get this

"Receiver Not Home. Follow Up Action Underway"

The fat idiot did not ring the door, not knock on it, no one even left a note like they use to.

Im 100% sure he didnt even drive here...

I called TNT and yelled at them but she didnt know more then i did she just said they will re-deliver it tomorrow

iMac is lost. TNT says it will be here tomorrow, Apple says it's in China and they don't know when it will be here. In fact nobody knows hoe or what. Thank you Apple. :( It should be here today!!

Welcome in the club. Mine is in 'preparing for shipment' since Dec 24th around 11am UK time. It's heading to London, UK, eventually.

Where's yours going to?

Mine went into "preparing for shipment" on monday 24th and is heading to Bruges, Belgium. I guess our mac's will be on the same plane :)

It was meant to arrive today - it has 2 tracking numbers one for the superdrive (delivered) one for the iMac (not delivered) and according to UPS they are waiting to for apple to deliver it. Apple claim to have sent both units together so have raised an investigation which can take 24 hours. I dont understand why it would take close to 4 weeks to deliver a superdrive and nothing else :(

Call them up, ask to speak to a manager and complain.

That sounds worse!! What the hell is goong on with our iMacs...

 Rant

So I received my UPS package from Apple today. It was, *drum roll* a small packet containing an Applecare booklet.

I called up UPS and was told that they had no record of ever receiving an iMac from Apple, so I should check with them if it had shipped.

I called up Apple, and was told, no it hadn't shipped and wouldn't do so until some point in January.

This despite ordering on Nov 30th, and them taking full payment on Dec 20th (when it allegedly shipped). I was also told that I couldn't cancel the order until I receive the iMac and they couldn't give me anything more specific than:

'January. Probably.'

REALLY unimpressed.
