I'm in the US and I still haven't gotten my hands on one. We have tried multiple times with no luck.

Me neither.

There is a PC World near me, but the closest Apple Store is Southampton...

If I can, I will just go to PC world, but I wonder if they are going to get any stock at all, and if so, how much.

Don't really fancy standing outside the Apple Store in Southampton to be honest, it's right on a busy bit...

Lakeside has a Apple Store, PC World and Best Buy so hopefully I can get one... :)
Best Buy says its coming 25th as well.

What does this mean for the US consumers who havent gotten their hands on one yet? Anything?

How dare Apple share the allocation of iPads around the world. Don't they know that US consumers are so much better than everyone else. Why should they have to wait ?

As for Launch, well I'm in Ireland and the only ipad retailer in Co.Kerry was on conference call with Apple today, and tells me they will have some iPad 2's but could not confirm if it will be Friday or early next week, and they will not know until tomorrow what allocation they have or which models.

I'm hoping for a 64GB White Wifi + Smart Cover + HDMI adapter for Friday, but realistically I'm not holding my breath and would not be surprised if I'm left waiting another week or two.

I have idea how you came to the conclusion that this is what he meant.....

According to my local Apple Reseller, the iPad 2 will be going on sale at 5pm.
With me finishing work at 1pm on Fridays, this is perfect - hopefully not too much queuing!

Those planning on PC World getting them, just be careful as last year it was nowhere near every PC world that carried iPads at launch.

I may have been a bit too sarc'y for my own good. ;) sorry :(

I guess that since the US launch, the iPad forum has had a lot of posters complaining and I'm tired of reading post's demanding that apple should delay their International launches because 'they' as US customers are having to queue or wait for their ipad orders, and implying that this is somehow unfair to them ?

If I took his post up the wrong way I appologise.

I wonder if masses of Asian resellers will descend upon Europe's ipad supply like they have in the US. Will the higher prices, and smaller profits, keep them away?

Worried

I guess I'll never get my new iPad now. Not scheduled to ship until April 1. My guess is that I should expect a "Your shipment has been delayed" email in the near future.

Sure, I know that you're joking around, but deep in your heart you know that it is true. :)

Friend of mine (yeah, I know) has spoken to both HMV and PC World who have both said 5pm launch time. What's really interesting is that HMV have said the 16GB WiFi will be £399, or down £30 from the iPad 1.

We do have a much more favourable exchange rate at the minute, even with the VAT rise, so if this is the case we could be seeing the iPad 2 cheaper across the board than the original (prior to the recent stock clearing price cut).

what time did they start accepting internet placed orders in the states?

haha, flange

On a separate note, do we recon that it'll revert to its old price point, or keep the VAT increased price? Goodness, perhaps even a £399 price point?

MacBook Pro went back to pre-VAT increase prices (£999 instead of £1020), which makes the MacBook (not updated, still higher price) particularly unattractive at this point in time.

Same for here in Canada. Lets hope Apple can pull a lot of stock out of its ass otherwise it'll be the US all over again, with people still queuing in the morning a week after release.

Friday. Morning. Regent Street (or Covent Garden). I am THERE!!

Living a week without iPad (I sold mine on ebay) feels so weird, I don't feel content.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Ha. That is a pretty good play or words, intended or not. i.e., you don't feel content w/o and iPad and and iPad is viewed as a mostly content device.

If everything on the UK web site is still correct as of now, when are they going to start taking "Pre-Orders" seeing as the launch is 4 days away?
