This wasn't a waste of time. It gave me the excuse to stay up and enjoy a lovely bottle of JD whilst baiting some android-loving commenters over on Engadget. Always fun :p

After staying up for nothing it's got me pondering whether to buy a Galaxy Note 10 instead as 'revenge'! ;)*

* Yes, I am kidding. It's been a bit frustrating but such is life.

Ideally, I would just go to an Apple store in the morning. But as I am doing a PhD (and still a student!) get 3% off.

Doesn't sound like a lot but save around £24 with the 128GB LTE version. Guess it will have to be an online order, as no discount in-store...

Anyone getting the Apple smart case, as well?

Worse things have happened, eh? About 10 years ago I woke up with a terrible hangover. Gagging for air and with the worst sore throat you can imagine, I crawled downstairs with my mind set on the one sole cure for this agony: a strawberry Cornetto Ice Cream in the freezer.

Pale as day I opened the freezer, found the Cornetto and admired it in all it's shining glory. I took the lid off, slid the wrapper off, opened the bin and

I threw the ice cream away.

Yep.

Instead of throwing the wrapper with accompanying lid in the bin, I had sacrificed the holy grail of hangover cures to the Gods of rotting food and ready meal cartons.

I have been crying ever since.

Ask for the night manager. There was nobody else waiting for iPad, just a couple of kids for a new xbox game.

Don't forget about Tesco's £30 discount, too - slightly better, though then you lose the option for financing.

Thanks for the suggestion, that would be a nice saving! (and contribute toward the smart case).

But I like buying from Apple just 'in case' I want to return it within 14 days. I never do if I really want something, but it's nice to have the option... Just saying!

I (like many others) was hoping for a midnight order. Oh well.

My Tesco Extra is only a 10 minute drive, but I don't want to get out of my warm bed for just the chance of getting one.

I'm going to wait until 1am, if I can't order online, I'll go to sleep. I'll get up and go to the Apple Store in the morning.

Grrrr. Popped over and was told everything electrical is locke dup in the back and to try in morning. Not a total waste as swung by Currys which had notice saying opening at 9am for iPad Air sales so hopefully get there early doors to get one.

And on that note.. Night all.

Just got home from work. I was going to head to John Lewis around 7-7:30am but I am now wondering whether or not to go with Tesco and use that £30 saving towards a smart case?! Decisions!

For some dumb reason, I decided to give up on John Lewis as I didn't trust them to have the full range in stock (and I'm still slightly unsure which model I'm going for!).

Anyway, 3¼ hours until doors open, I'm wishing I'd stayed in bed a couple of hours longer!

Apple Store, Braehead, Glasgow .... 4:45am
